Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Syncing Opie With Opensync - Collie + Hentges

All,

Has anyone had success syncing opie with opensync? The distribution is Fedora. T Z is Collie with Hentges. I have tried several things to get it to work. The best is an old .82 Multisycn; however it seems to only sync one way, from the Z to the Fedora box.

Has anyone had success with multisync and fc6? The package is in the release, however it errors with a no plugins error. There do not appear to be plugins for the 0.90 fc6 version.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Cannot Ssh To Hentges Rom/ Nameserver Failior

All,

A flash of the latest Hentges ROM and cardfs seems to have gone well. Most things came up, including an auto restore of contacts. (this was a surprise)

The issue is networking is not coming all the way back. The Z is connected via cable to a PC. That connection is up. Ping works.

Pings of ip addresses from the Z work; however the Z cannot resolve names, ie www.google.com, etc. /etc/resolv.conf is set up? Any clues?

Finally ssh from the host to the Z does not work. The Z asks for the root pw. I used the password askded for during initialization. Is the pw canned? If so what is it? Can it be reset?

Has anyone tried sharp camera on 3.4.5.1 ?

Does it requires a recompile? Do the libraries support execution accross versions? This should work. I am looking for confirmation.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Syncing Between Zaurus And Linux

The Z is running Opie 1.2 and a Henges ROM from last fall. Multisync is 0.82 and Linux is FC with upgrades.

Syncing works but appointments are dropped. Does anyone have syncing currently working? If so what configurations are working?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Patchs To Sync Opie With Evo-2 ?

All,

I am trying to sync opie 1.2 with evo-2 using multisync cvs. The 3 package sets are loaded and syncing starts but does not complete, that is not all entries are recognized. There are several patchs in the opie-multisync patch tree. Has anyone here successfully added the patchs? If so which patchs did you apply?

I am confused about the status of the 3.5.3 kernel on 5500s. Mine is definatly broken. There have been many e-mails about fixes etc, however nothing definitive.

I suggest we keep a status thread.

Will it destroy any of the in place configuration?

How are kernel size differences handled?

Opps! I tried to install vncviewer and it corrupted the boot process. I believe the offending script is in /etc/rc2.d.

How can the Z be booted into something other then rc2?

I would really like not to reflash.

The flash space is rapidly filiing up on my 3.5.3 flash. It is down to 300k. What can easily be moved to sd?

I can think of timezones. What else?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Unable To Sync 3.5.3 To Multisync

All,

I am unable to sync 3.5.3 to multisync .82. This worked on 3.5.1 and 3.5.2. There has been no change to the linux system. The sync gets as far as the Opie screen flashs "sync" and the log shows unable to connect. I believe it is a sym link problem from / to the applications. What are the correct symlinks for 3.5.3 please?

All,

3.5.3 collie will not sync with multisync on linux host. usb is up and working. The linux config has not changed between 3.3.6 to 3.5.1 or 3.5.3. On those releases it was necessary to add links between the / dir and the data. I tried that but it did not work.  

The sync attempt is recognized by the Z. The screen flashes sync Multisync. However the log
shows Failed to connect, Failed to load data.

Has anyone gotten multisync to work and what were the hangups?

What should the sym links look like?

All,

I would like to upgrade installed packages on 3.5.3. Some are  larger the free space available on flash to an attempt to upgrade them would result in an error.

How can more free flash space be made available? What are some good choices to unload and then reload onto an sd card?

How much space is required to perform an "ipkg upgrade".

As a general comment aftersome initial errors and misunderstandings on my part 3.5.3 is performing very well.

All,

3.5.3 has required several re-flashs to get sorted out. On most of the flashs the free space was on the order of 500kb. However on the last flash it was over 900kb. The system was the same. What should the free space be?
