well, since we do not have any sl-6000's to test on it does make it a little hard. I have a new work schedule, so i will be able to start working stuff more now. but as of now, i haven't been doing much. but our team needs donations for this kind of stuff

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Kathrin RC2 available now
« on: August 20, 2004, 05:06:52 am »
I had previously used ashley's script with 1.0.5, and everything above 1.0.5 from our core team test roms, to RC1 developer rom, to RC2 public rom has worked fine flashing it normal, and it keeps the nice big root partition.

Would there be tasks&desktops switching applets for mbpanel? If not, would fbpanel work properly with rotation and mb-applets? (currently we have no automatic panel alighnment after rotation and no handling of clicks on applets)
Would keyboard applet have possibility to change layouts?
Would there be support for usb mouses? We need the way to set X's "Device" and "Protocol" options in "InputDevice" section.

Finally, could we have sources of all applets and utilities written by pdaxrom team? Remember, you're GPLed.
the sources for everything in the rom is available to you. just gotta look. like Laze said. The settings utilities are written in python, so just open up the program in vi if you want the source, and also, there was another thread already discussing where you can download our sources.

any update yet? I have the same card and opened it as well, and then proceded to try touching various metal objects to the solder points on both sides of the whit strip (which i believe is a ceramic patch antenna). Nothing really seemed to make any substancial difference in my tests. I then took the small antenna from a wireless PCI card that i had, and stuck a small wire up into the hole where it screws to the card, and touched the wire to the solder points on the ambicom card, and it didn't do anything for me. hmm. let me know if you have any luck.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Just got back from DefCon, idea for pdaXrom
« on: August 02, 2004, 06:11:18 pm »
Hey everyone, i just got back from DefCon 12 in las vegas, and boy oh boy did my c760 running pdaXrom get some attention. One lady was interested in ordering about 700 c760's for her company all running pdaXrom, but she was dissapointed when i told her that I was just one of the core developers for pdaXrom, and did not work for Sharp or anything like that. So yeah, there were Many Many people interested in pdaXrom and the c760.

I did meet up with a guy Jake who was interested in working with me on creating an Encrypted PDA using pdaXrom. Basically he wants it all to run on an Encrypted FileSystem using a key stored on an SD card for Authentication. We are going to get together and talk about it. I know i personally am very interested in this and told him that hima and I would work on this for sure, whether or not the rest of the community was interested. But i'm curious who would be interested in something like this. If no one is interested, then we will go ahead with the project on our own. but if people are interested, we at pdaXrom could possibly host an image with these capabilites as well as the regular image for those not interested in this. Let me hear your feedback.

Anthony

i hope the xcirp and ppp-dialer apps will be working.
Are you having troubles with xircp in the current version. If so let me know, and i will try and fix them/help you figure out the problem. I almost have a new version of xircp that should be a bit better, as it will have a status bar now so that you will know if the file is transfering or not. but yeah, let me know if you are having problems with it.
