Is OESF site still hosted at Dreamhost.com ? If so, how are the admins likeing it? I wish to switch away from http://chaosnetworks.net/ because there are rude and their support sucks.

I just bought one from them, arrived today. It "should" include a 1 year warrenty. Got here really fast, I'm happy with their service. Plus, comes with English OS. Don't know about the EA-72 charger in the US though. Is it ok?

By "Them" do you mean pricejapan or geekstuff?

EDIT: By the way, do the ship with the English ROMS on a CD? I plan to use OpenZaurus but I would be nice to have an extra option.

General Discussion / Sl-c1000 Questions
« on: October 19, 2005, 12:29:29 pm »
I've been looking at the specs and am still a little confused and I just wanted to make sure. As some of you know, I run a website on using the Zaurus as a pen-test device:

http://irongeek.com/i.php?submenu=zaurus/z...urus/zaurusmain

Well, I fucked up and fried my old 5500 and am thinking of getting a sl-c1000. Here are my questions:

1. Can I still use my old 5500 charger on the c1000? I want to have a charger at work and at home so I was going to reuse the old one.

2. If I understand right, the c1000 had 128MB or ROM where it stores the OS and apps I can install. It also has 64MB ram besides that. Is that correct? I use to alwats run out of space on root on my 5500 (16MB ROM for root I think) and had to ipgk-link everything to RAM, is that less of a problem now?

Thanks.

Deals and Great Z Buys / Stupid Pricejapan Question
« on: October 19, 2005, 09:53:55 am »
Hi all, I was thinkign of getting the c1000. When I look at PriceJapan and fill in all of my shipping and payment option I get back a "quote". I take it this quote IS the price that I would be charged, and not just an estimate?

General Discussion / Think I Fried My Zaurus
« on: October 19, 2005, 09:04:02 am »
I think I fried my Zaurus but hooking power to it backwards. Opps. Not sure. Either way, its a brick right now. Guess I should be more careful with those universal power adapters. No lights, full reset does squat.

LogosX told me about this site:

but I don't know have much hope.

General Discussion / Best Way To Distribute Apps And Settings.
« on: August 16, 2005, 05:09:04 pm »
What would be the best way for me to back up all of the apps and settings on my Zaurus so I can make a file others can download and install on their Z. Also, could you provide links to instructions. I’m not sure if there is a god backup app or if I should make an IPK or what.
