Cxx0 General discussions / Japanese keys

"kata/hira" only works when you are inside Japanese input mode.  So when you switch into the hiragana input, pressing this button will toggle you between hiragana and the half-width katakana mode.
likewise "zen/han", which only works when you are in katakana input mode, this will toggle between full-width and half-width katakana characters.

Cxx0 General discussions / Sticking in my craw...

This article originated from China (suggested by the Simplified Chinese text). The 7800 is in Yuan, which makes it roughly US$940 which is a hell a lot of money in China, something like a year or two's worth of a factory worker's salary, and I'd say probably 2-3 months worth of salary for an engineer or IT related workers (which is probably where the interest will lie).  The article's title questions how well the Z would sell at this price.

Personally, I see this as not just a bad move on Sharp's part, but another case of business managers being way too optimistic about the Chinese market without doing proper research and forming a realistic market strategy when trying to penetrate the Chinese market in general.

Cxx0 General discussions / Is the c860 right for me?

Ok I\'m the starter of this topic and I\'ve now register.

I bought my 860 at a local electronic store for about 62,000yen inc tax (I live in Kyushu, so no access to Akihabara), not the cheapest according to kakaku, but certainly acceptable because even if I order from the cheapest online store, the p&h would\'ve just push the price up to around the same level.

Thanks for the info, but I actually haven\'t used the translation software at all so far but mainly sticking with the dictioanry.  Not showing off or anything but I\'ve passed lv2 Japanese proficiency test so I\'m not really looking at something that \"does it all\" for me, but rather a tool to just help every now and then to look up words when I\'m studying and stuff.
