General Discussion / Cacko 1.21 breaks Bluez
« on: November 17, 2004, 01:51:16 am »
Ahh.. Perfect, I'be finally come back to Cacko and am happy, I see that hciconfig does indeed pick up and show my bluetooth card.

So, the secret it to keep away from the main bluez package but DO install the csr one.

Thanks a bundle.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / which kernel for pdaxrom ...
« on: October 16, 2004, 08:11:54 pm »
Go ahead Martin, fire any questions you have at me.  I got my PDA about two weeks and have probably spend around 40 hours configuring it and trying to work out which ROM to go for, I also need networking to work well, along with a decent terminal emulator.

Where did you get your PDA from?  What was the original Rom on it?

Just tried OpenZaurus, that turned out to be a bit of a pain too, It hangs when I plug the USB cable into my Linux system and the fonts on the included terminal program are almost unuseable.  I knew there was a reason why I opted out of OpenZaurus last time I tried it..

The bluemonkey card llights do liight up though hciconfig reports and error.  However, based on the other problems, I'm going on to give pdaXrom a quick try, I had tried it before and I remember giving up on that initially because of the font size issues.

Invalid model.

That's the error I get with Cacko 1.18.

So it looks like I'm stuck with the original Rom that came with the Zaurus, Yeuch.  It doesn't even have bash on there..

Oh well.

And Cacko 1.18 doesn't support the 860, coming up with an error about Invalid device or similar error.

I found issues with using Bluetooth on my PDA running Cacko 1.21b (SL860).

Reverting back to the initial Rom (Purchased from Shirtpocket.co.uk), got the driver working again.  Any thoughts?

/etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia stop was showing a stack trace/dumo in dmesg.

hciconfig was showing a card with mac address of 00:00:00:00:00:00.

Re-flashing to the original Rom appears to have fixed this.

I'm now trying Cacko 1.20, will let you know how that worls.

Cxx0 Hardware / What wifi card?
« on: October 09, 2004, 11:40:09 pm »
:-)
I just changed my channel from 12 to 11 and it worked, looks like the card doesn't support > 11 channelid , or it's a setup somewhere on the Zaurus.

Now, I just need to get kismet working so I can find wifi hotspots..

Chris, I too am having problems with this card, I've spent around 6 hours trying so far,

I get the following error in the dmesg log, which I'm not sure if  it's something I need to worry about :-

do11req_reset: the macaddress and setdefaultmib arguments are currently unsupported.

Me too, I also recently got an 860 and I'm trying to use the Origo card (from Shirtpocket).

I'm having no joy and am also using the latest Cacko rom.

Any thoughts?

Is this message something to worry about?

Thanks.  Jag
