For Sale / Wanted / Wanted: Anyone Know Where To Get A 6000w?
« on: February 06, 2005, 05:15:22 am »
Well the price there is pretty reasonable considering all of the other importer's prices I have seen for other zauruses, but has anyone ordered from this company before? Can anyone confirm that they have delivered before? If anyone has any info or knows of any other way by which I can acquire one I would really appreciate it!

I cannot seem to find any stores or importers that sell them, yet I know some people have them. Amazon.co.jp will not ship to the US. Does anyone happen to know any way I can aquire one? I live in the US and I am willing to purchase like new.

Thanks

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Sl-c3000 Roms
« on: February 03, 2005, 09:05:27 pm »
I got a c3000 for christmas to replace my sl-5500, which I sold shortly after. I paid about 800 dollars for my c3k, and it is a really cool device. However, I feel like the developers will never get around to making a third party rom for it. So I sold mine. I recieved payment yesterday and I'm shipping it out today. I have decided to try and get my hands on an sl-6000w, because it has built in bluetooth and wireless. Which leaves sd available for a 1gig storage card and CF free for GPS connectivity. However with the c3k I would have to switch out the cf card between bluetooth, wifi, and gps all the time. The c3k is an awesome piece of technology, the 4gig drive, the laptop form factor, the swiveling screen, are all kick ass, but I am far too attracted to the 6000w's myriad connectivity options and I have a soft spot in my heart for the 5500esque form factor

Does anyone know where I can purchase a 6000w?

Let it sit a while.  If it's off the backup battery won't charge and you will lose every thing if the main battery dies.
Why would you lose everything? I thought the 6000's used flash memory for internal storage, unlike the 5500?

I keep getting tempted to buy a 6000W, especially now someone in the office has a Dell X50v with a VGA screen which looks amazing, but I couldn't do without a builtin thumb board and of course Linux

Where can I buy a 6000w? I cannot seem to find one.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Question For C3k Users
« on: January 09, 2005, 04:44:03 am »
Hi all,

I recently purchased a c3k from geekstuff4u.com. I have previously owned an sl-5500 which I sold yesterday to help pay for my new baby
However, I am extremely dismayed by a couple of things. First off, the rom that came on my zaurus SUCKS. I am so incredibly anxious for an OZ or other rom for my new zaurus. Right now, it is an 800 dollar paperweight. All I can do is some incredibly useless pim functions, and play mp3s. Until I get a proper linux distribution on it, is is a glorified calculator. I would do this myself, but I am not skilled enough yet to take up such a task.
So here is my question:
I have noticed that many other people seem to have access to a terminal on their c3k! I do not! Why is that? I suppose that I have a unique, and singularly useless rom installed on my zaurus. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what I can do to at least get access to a terminal? It would be too much to ask to actually be able to get a more fully functional linux running on this thing until something a bit more tailored to my device comes along.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Ryan Sackler.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / SL-C3000 Support?
« on: January 06, 2005, 05:32:31 am »
I just bought a C3000 for christmas, as an upgrade to my sl5500. I love my 5500, and I am very pleased with the c3000. However, as of now I consider my c3k to be little more than a fancy mp3 player, and a nice paperweight. The sharp rom is useless. Until cacko, pdaXrom, and OZ developers get these things in their hands so they can do what they do best, it will remain so. Everyone appreciates what these guys do, and I know they do it purely for the pleasure of the accomplishment. I personally know how rewarding it can be to know that you turned your ideas into a useable solution to everyone's problems. These guys are personally responsible for turning a bunch of glorified calculators into fully functional pocket sized linux boxen! If we can all afford $600+ to enhance our nerdery then surely we can afford the relatively small amount necessary from each person to create a donation pot large enough to purchase at least one shiny new zaurus.  I'd be happy to donate a little cash, and let me once again beg and grovel to thee oh mighty overlords of the zaurii. May caffeine rain down on you from the heavens as you struggle ever so valiantly to restore our c3000s to their proper glory.
