For Sale / Wanted / [sold] Sl3200
« on: January 02, 2008, 09:11:43 am »
I'm parting with my SL3200 to get an Asus eee.  The SL3200 has Meanie's pdaxii13 5.49 ROM on it, and I'm bundling it with a few extras:

 - Nintendo DS softcase
 - 1GB SD card (PQI)
 - 2GB CF card (Kingston 40x speed)
 - Bluetooth CF card
 - Symbol 802.11b WLAN card

It's on Ebay here (shipping to UK & worldwide):

 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=002

http://tinyurl.com/326rqt

I've really enjoyed my Zaurus, and am sad to part with it in one sense - the main reason for selling is that I use my laptop far more, and the Asus eee will replace both my laptop & the SL3200.  In one sense I'm downgrading, but I'll be able to do nearly everything on the Asus that I could on the original laptop, and it's nearly as portable as the zaurus.

PM me if you want more details.

User Request for Applications / Kstars For Pdaxrom
« on: August 27, 2007, 08:18:31 am »
http://edu.kde.org/kstars/embedded/

...shows Kstars working as a Qtopia app for Opie/Qtopia-based zaurii; would anyone be able to get it working under pdaxrom (specifically pdaxii13, which I think is basically beta1/3(?)) for the clamshell models (I'm using a 3200)?

Cheers,

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Font Size In Icewm
« on: August 27, 2007, 07:01:30 am »

I recently upgraded to pdaxii13 5.4.9 & the fonts seem to be smaller in Icewm; I've dug around in the /etc/icewm directory for settings, and whilst there are some referring to fonts, I'm not sure which ones to change (if any) to get larger fonts for reading text (all applications seem to have slightly smaller font sizes).

Is there a simple solution (still want to use Icewm)?

...sorry abt the repeat posting.  (Not sure how to delete other one)

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Gnocky Compiled For Pdaxrom?

Gnocky works !

The problem is glade. Some (older) glade gui-s need an extra linker flag to compile correctly.
I was having troubles with several glade-things, so I did a bit of searching.
The linker needs "-export-dynamic". Reconfigure the thing, recompile and play.

Code: [Select]
LDFLAGS="-export-dynamic" ./configure
Have fun,
Chero.

Hi, do you think you could post an ipk somewhere?  I really want to get beyond just sms with gnome-phone-manager, and gnocky looks like a possible way forward to manage my texts etc easily.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=166277\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Sorry to answer this late,
But if I make an ipk it would be for r198 and it wouldn't work for pdaXii3.
Maybe someone else can give it a go ?

BTW :
I compiled gnokii 0.6.18 - 0.6.17 - latest snapshot but they all give me no signal level and no battery level. The "old" 0.6.9 does give them, but that one doesn't work for gnocky-0.0.4.
I don't know whether it is the version or my compilation that does this. Can someone else give it a try ?
It might even be my phone that causes the problem, but why does it work on 0.6.9 then ?
I'd be happy to post an ipk of gnokii 0.6.18 and the dev-part if someone want to look into it.

Chero.

Thanks for your work on this Chero - looks like I'll have to stick with xgnokii, which ain't bad I guess.

Cheers,

Hi again - when I upgrade via pdaXii3-custom, does the initrd.bin automatically get extracted too or not?  If not, do I need to do "Install ROM" option from the service menu as well as the upgrade option?

....reason for asking is that the contact (pimlico) app gives a library error.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wammu Compilation For Pdaxii13/pdaxrom Beta3

Zed...

so the problem is with your laptop or the zaurus?

I think it's much easier to get the bluetooth part working rather than having wammu compiled ...

....good point - I was hoping to make my zaurus my main PIm machine (which it is really) & then use the laptop for backups.....anyway, got bluetooth working OK on the lappy now (I think pairing started working after I installed kbluepin helper).

It'd be nice to have it working someday on my Z though   In the meantime, I'm getting used to gammu & gnokii

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 On Nand

Hi

Firstly, I would like to thank Meanie for the work he has done on his various projects and the time he puts in to make things as easy to install and configure as possible. I tried pdaxQTrom a few months ago on my SL-C3200 and then graduated a few weeks ago to pdaXii13 Version 5.4.6.

I'm just wondering what I need to download and install to upgrade to 5.4.8. I would like to fully upgrade my installation including the latest kernel.

I have looked at the links in this thread but cannot find the instructions to upgrade an existing installation.

Thanks for your help in advance

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Wammu Compilation For Pdaxii13/pdaxrom Beta3

I've tried compiling wammu ( http://wammu.eu/ ) myself, but so far without success.

BTW: reason for wanting wammu on my Z is because, despite about 5 hours of hair-pulling, my laptop WON'T pair with my phone (tried everything), but with EXACTLY the same config on my Zaurus, the same USB BT dongle pairs with it seemlessly.............

I've tried compiling wammu ( http://wammu.eu/ ) myself, but so far without success.

The steps are roughly as follows, which I've attempted on my 3200 using the 3.4.6 gcc squashfs from Meanie's site :

1)Compile cmake (needed for gammu). DONE
2) Compile gammu with shared library support (needed for python-gammu) - FAILS (can supply details if needbe - I'll pastebin the output soon & post URL here on oesf)
3) Compile python-gammu NOT DONE
4) Compile wammu NOT DONE

If anyone wants to try to do it & package up the needed ipk's I'd be very grateful.

Cheers,
