Hi,

I think VirtualPC will boot a LiveCD, it certainly boots from CD for installing an OS (Windows...) so I think that is definitely my top option. I presume the compiler is gcc based, so I might have a look at setting up an environment for cross compiling in OSX as well.

Thanks very much for having a look at the xsl stuff for me - it is much appreciated!

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Keep Pdaxrom Alive

I do agree with Omro here - pdaXrom is an awesome rom, and you guys have done fantastic work on it. And given the responses in this thread many people (including myself) are willing to set up a monthly subscription donation, ie. the community would effectively be employing you full time. So its only fair that the money given goes into what is needed.

The whole point of a steering committee would be to act as a buffer between the developers and the community at large, so you don't have to deal with one or two people asking for certain games etc, the committee does. Like wise the committee could explain why the developers are doing certain things to the masses.

I think its an excellent idea to make pdaXrom an even better rom. Control of it certainly wouldn't be taken away from you, we'd just be able to help point you in the direction that would be beneficial to most people

Thanks
A

That's wonderful - thanks. Any chance you could post them? I just remembered that I installed Virtual PC on my powerbook ages ago (used it at the time and not since...) so I'll try installing a cross compiler on that (its getting complicated... lol). Then I'll fidget around with whatever packages I can find as well.

Thanks

Hi Jason,

xmlroff certainly looks like it would probably work.

I must try and set up the SDK compiler on my machine.... (edit - I guess I can't - just looked and I don't see a cross compiler for PPC or a native on the c1000   )

Thanks

Hi,

I'm definitely up for sending money to you via paypal, however I very much agree with the others here. A developer blog so we could see what was going on would be wonderful.

Hello all,

Does anyone know of any programs for pdaxrom that will let me perform xsl-fo etc transforms? The editor part is obviously just a text editor, although a specialist application would be nice as well. I couldn't see any, but there might be something I missed...

Thanks

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Any Rom For C1k?
« on: July 06, 2005, 08:03:08 am »
Cacko ROM haven't been realised for the 1k yet. Work, I understand, is progressing on it...

Other than the Sharp ROM, at the moment I think you are limited to OpenZaurus or pdaXrom. Both are decent if a little ropey now and then, although personally I prefer pdaXrom.

Give it time and there will be lots of great ROMs for the 1k...

Don't suppose there is an update to progress? No pressure

I was just trying out several ROMs and wondering if I should get settled with one until Cacko 1k is available?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I've just tried again and the same problem is still occurring - I can't figure out why... I'll try it through a proxy in the US.

Allan

edit: Nope - not even that is working for me - this is most odd...

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Problems Downloading Oz
« on: June 18, 2005, 11:29:34 am »
Hello all,

I'm having problems downloading OZ 3.5.3 (or any other version for that matter) for my c1000 (or any other model...) from the OZ web-site. The download simply cuts off a random points. I'll get 3.3Mb or 9.1Mb, 100Kb or 1.5Mb of the file before the download cuts out. I've tried using Safari, Firefox Mac, Cameo and IE5 Mac but none of them will download the files.

Has anyone else noticed this kind of thing? Does anyone know of a mirror where I can download the c1000 files? (the mirrors I found don't have it).

Thanks
Allan

General Discussion / Software Archive For The Zaurus

Hi all,

Sorry - I should have made myself clear earlier on. I would like to use the database that we already have, as repeating all of that work is most likely a waste of time. Its possible that I'll need to make a few changes to the structure etc of the database for any new features - but we'll see

Keep the ideas coming...

Hi guys,

Okay - I'm really looking forward to working on this - however... I'm going to be away on holiday this coming week. Please keep suggestions coming into me: allan.jardine { No AT spam } sprypanel.com, or here - and I'll take as many on board as possible. When I get back next week I'll combine it all together and give you all feedback as to what I think I'll do, and get more feedback from you guys... etc etc.

Thanks
Allan
