Gemini PDA - General Discussion / Big announcement tomorrow!

I think you will find that at least one of the 'announcements' will just be confirmation of what they actually made live on their support website (http://support.planetcom.co.uk/index.php/Main_Page) lat Friday, which is the release of an updated FlashTool, FlashToolDrivers, Android Firmware, Linux Firmware (including updated Debian and Sailfish OS Community edition). They also released an updated PartitionTool which offers more flexibility, together with new Android and Linux flashing guides!

You were close anyway!

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Swiss Keyboard, è should be é

Of course not. What is printed on the key has no relation to what is programmed in the keyboard driver.
I don't quite follow you there... when I press a key I expect to see the character printed on that key appear on the screen, regardless of anything else!

In this case, could the key possibly have been 'printed' incorrectly, for example?

Do both keys produce the same 'character' on the screen though?

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Firmware update this morning.

We had been advised that one was on its way.

Have you noticed any changes or 'improvements' yet?

Does this one sort oyt the 'stereo sound' bug, I wonder?

Because I need to quickly send pictures to the newspaper from various events, I needed a good USB-c SD card reader. I thought I'd read that the Gemini hub has an SD slot, but it doesn't. After shopping around a bit, I settled on this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019PI2WP...=UTF8&psc=1

It's tiny, almost too small, and reads both standard SD and micro SD cards quite well. It's instantly recognized by the Gemini (on the Linux side; I don't boot droid) and is supported for exFAT.

So if you have use for an SD reader, this one has been tested to work with Gemini.
For anyone who only wishes to use micro SD cards I am assuming that this slightly cheper alternative would work also?

Gemini PDA - General Discussion / Update #56 on Indiegogo
« on: May 30, 2018, 07:03:27 am »
Although the update states that "About 1000 Gemini units were shipped out to backers in the past two weeks." please don't forget that they also shipped over 1000 units in the first 'batch' which (if my memory is correct!) they just managed to get out before the factory 'shut down' for the Chinese New Year!

Gemini PDA - Android / Reading messages in gmail inbox?
« on: May 20, 2018, 07:15:10 am »
All solved now!

I think the problem was that I hadn't completed setting up the new 'Google account' on my Gemini.

This morning, I accessed it from my personal computer, and was immediately prompted to enter a recovery phone number and email address, which I did, and I was also asked to confirm the password.

When I next went to my Gemini, all the messages were now displayed in my Gmail Inbox, so all is well! 🙂

Gemini PDA - Android / Reading messages in gmail inbox?
« on: May 19, 2018, 11:43:35 am »
Hi,

This is probabaly a silly question, but having installed a new gmail account on my new Gemini, I can't see, or read the messages which I know are in my Inbox?

Although the menu tells me that I have 3 mesages in my 'Primary' area, but all I see on the screen is a picture of a deckchair, and a "You've finished" comment, but it doesn't seem to want to display the messages themselves!

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks!

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Mini USB-C travel mouse
« on: May 16, 2018, 12:37:58 pm »
The only 'problem' I can see is that it is a 'wired' mouse!

Could you not use a Bluetooth mouse with to the existing internal interface, or would that not be reliable enough?
