Gemini PDA - Hardware / Wifi broken
« on: August 12, 2019, 04:48:26 am »
Very strange, I woke up today to see my WiFi is connected. Both N & AC seem to work again. Let's see how this holds, before I start unscrewing it.

@stfm: Fixed?

Work in progress. I received my new phone today, I first want that one to be up and running before I start unscrewing my Gemini.

I keep you posted.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Wifi broken

My wifi is completly broken. It doesn't find any networks at various locations. I suspect I dropped my Gemini too often.

I'm wondering if I can fix this bij tearing down the Gemini? The wifi modem sits in the SoC, so no fixing there. I don't know if the caseing has some sort of wifi antenna which could be loose?

I still have to upgrade my Gemini to Android 8, but I don't that this will fix my wifi.

Any suggestions?

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Gemini is charging powerbank?!
« on: September 18, 2018, 04:52:50 am »
I'm aware that the Gemini can only be charged from the left side.

The only thing left for me is to buy a decent USB A to C cable.

Gemini PDA - Android / How likely is Android 8 really?

All those speculations... Nobody contacted Planet? I did it for you (and myself)

While we are hoping to release an Android 8 update and we're quite positive this will happen, the support team is in no position to discuss this. As far as I am aware, Android 8.0 is already available for our chipsets with working drivers. It is only a matter of time for it to be modified accordingly and released for the Gemini's form factor.

Sit back and relax. It will probably happen. We all know Planet is not good at communicating with it's customers, as we noticed during the crowdfund. Why should we expect to change that after they delivered?

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Gemini is charging powerbank?!
« on: August 28, 2018, 03:07:46 pm »
I just bought a new USB C 3.1 cable.

I connected it to my Gemini and a iMuto X5TC powerbank. I immediately noticed there was no charging symbol on android. The screen on the powerbank was flashing, so activity is happening. After a few minutes the battery level from my powerbank changed from 88% to 89%.

So my Gemini is charging my powerbank instead of the other way around?

I connected my Gemini with my Linux desktop, it is not detected nor charging.

I connected my Wileyfox Swift with the powerbank, and it is charging.

Is this a problem with the powerbank, cable or Gemini? I think the Gemini. Any suggestions?

Gemini PDA - Android / How to take a screenshot?

How does one make a screenshot on the Gemini? Normally on Android you can press the powerbutton and volume down. But since those buttons are not present on the Gemini....

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Take off screen protector?
« on: June 08, 2018, 02:09:15 pm »
How is the touch sensitivity without the screen protector?? From time to time the screen is barely responding to my touches.

I solved it by Installing Nova launcher. My favorite launcher for the past few years.

The strange thing is, uninstalling the Google app doesn't remove the searchbar. It only turns it in a unusable white bar. On other phones I always used this method to remove the searchbar.
