Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Lost Keystrokes

About the mouse registrations, don know about that.
Maybe try a restore and check if it still happens?

I also get strange behavior such as spontaneous right-clicks when using the touch screen. I believe there is a problem with the mouse driver.

It's a shame that something as simple as they keyboard and mouse does not work properly with the stock configuration. I did not expect a computer which ships with ubuntu as it's main OS to have these sorts of problems.

Hi,

today looking in japanese pages (with goggole translate), I found that they have port google chromiun to the sharp netwalker ( http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y...sl=ja&tl=en ).

The rep direction is:

deb http://nnc.homeunix.net/netwalker_rep/ ./

Some one have try it? how its go?

Regards

That repository is down, but I found this mirror:
http://nnc.dyndns.biz/netwalker_rep/

I installed chromium and it's much more stable and faster than firefox. No flash though.

Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Lost Keystrokes
« on: November 21, 2010, 05:51:26 pm »
My netwalker chronically loses keystrokes.

For example, when I type www.oesf.org 20-30% of the time it comes up ww.oesf.org.

How can I fix this?

P.S. Also most times mouse clicks register multiple times. So when I click to open something it often ends up opening 5-10 times!

Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Replacement Ac Adapter / Power Supply
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:15:54 pm »
I got the power line adapter koan suggested cause it was cheap and worth a try.

Fit isn't perfect, but good enough and 12V seems to work fine (9V causes the charging light to flicker between green and red).

I would have thought something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Power-Line-0900-77A-...ref=pd_sim_ol_1 would be suitable. Just make sure that you attach the connector in the right orientation and set the voltage.

Hmmm...looks good except:
-the netwalker is rated at 11V hopefully 12V won't cause any problems with long term use.
-difficult to say if the tip will fit. a loose fit will eventually cause the port itself to fail which is much more difficult to fix.

damn apple and their patent on magnetic power ports. damn them to hell.

Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Replacement Ac Adapter / Power Supply

The tip of my AC adapter snapped off. Importing an official replacement from japan is unreasonably expensive (cost almost 25% of the entire netwalker).

Can anyone recommend a replacement available in the US or at least tell me if the tip is compatible with some other standard?

I know the tip needs to match and the supply must be 11V with a reasonable amperage, I just don't know where to find such a replacement, especially since it's hard to tell if the tip matches without trying to plug it in.

Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / White Keyboard
« on: August 14, 2010, 12:11:14 am »
Does anyone know where I can get a white replacement keyboard?

Anyone have a white netwalker that wants to trade keyboards?

The black is too hard to see in the dark.
