Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / Battery is at 47% you say?

I've seen similar behavior with previous phone (Android 7) when the phone became cold, i.e. was in a bag or a car at around 0 °C for two hours or so. When I then tried to use it, it powered down immediately. I could then start it again, and it would work (possibly not when the battery becomes even colder, but in the cases I had, it worked). I haven't seen that with my Cosmo yet, but I think it hasn't become as cold yet, too.

Could that be your problem, too, or was it warm when it powered down? Lithium batteries don't like becoming too cold, the voltage will drop, and to the battery management system, it will seem as if the battery was empty.

Nope. I was using it at the time in my cozy, automatically controlled 70 degree inside temperature pick-up truck,. Wasn't a case of extreme temperatures

Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / Front display pane left always on
« on: December 18, 2019, 09:20:07 pm »
Maybe I missed the setting toggle for it, but is there a setting to keep the front display on all of the time? Android had the feature to keep the screen on at all times when plugged in, maybe something similar to that for the CODI?

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Poor battery life

Let's face it 2 screens are going to drain battery faster if you want more battery life turn front screen off simples

That makes no sense. When the cover is closed, the main screen is off, and when the cover is open, the cover screen goes off shortly.

I've had lots of phones with two screens, all of them having better battery life even out of a smaller battery. Hell, my E90 communicator`s battery is still good for 2.5 days. And it's a 5 year old battery.

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / WiFi printing
« on: December 17, 2019, 04:30:04 pm »
Ironically, tried printing via wifi to my portable Epson, last night. Aside from one color being off, it printed fine.

Current AT&T US Bands:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 19, 20, 25, 41, 66, 71

Bands Cosmo supports:
2, 4, 5, 12, 14, 17, 29, 30, 66

So no, it doesn't support all ATT bands, but it does seem to support the main ones ATT uses, like 2, 4, 5, 12 and 17.

That's ridiculous! Nine pies? I can do 7, but nine?

Ok, just tried it and I'll be. It works. Thank you for clarifying.

I think I'll automatically power down anyways.

This reminds me of the pixel power down issues after IIRC, Android 8 where units would show half of a battery charge, but still power down as if the battery was dead.

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Two lights on fingerprint sensor
« on: December 15, 2019, 08:23:37 pm »
Green and Red light up when you're on the phone functions. You know, the same colors for answer and hangup that can be found as far back as the first Motorola brick phone.

Both red, I think it's a bad fingerprint read, too many unsuccessful finger print reads.

Both blue, unlocked.

Flashing back and forth, media.

Why in bloody hell am I Reddit Spacing? Ugh.

Not sure where you're at, but check to see if ATT has 4G in your area ON A BAND THE COSMO SUPPORTS.

Cosmo Communicator - CoDi / Not another Cover Display Thread!
« on: December 15, 2019, 05:48:06 pm »
Anyone notice how easy it is to alter settings, make calls, turn on flashlight, etc from the cover display shortly after opening the cover? My index finger seems to be at home right over the screen when holding the Cosmo open.

@Planet, maybe I don't know, make the cover screen unresponsive when the cover is open on your next update? I mean, heck, you did a good job making it pretty unresponsive with the cover closed.

I know, I'm going to Hell for double posting. Until I get there, though...

Noticed today the keyboard backlighting doesn't seem to be tied into any sort of a light sensor. I wonder if a lot of these poor battery issues are the result of Cosmo users using the thing in the daylight and forgetting to nix the keyboard lighting  for the duration. I know I've done it a couple of times.

I'm not seeing that on this end. Here, it just beeps.

Also, I can't find a way to enable Android 9's gesture navigtion. For now I've turned the navigation bar off completelly and just do it via keyboard shortcuts.

Fairly certain Gesture Navigation was not baked into the Cosmo ROM.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Launchers... From Worst to Best

Nova launcher pro here as well. Tried T-ui for a day or so, but noticed the bottom of main screen would occasionally be unresponsive to touch upon opening the clamshell. Thought it a hardware issue at first, however, haven't experience  the issue under Nova Launcher.

The charge indicating Led starts to turn greenish at about 80%. If you look closely when it gets to that level, it's not really full on green. When the charge is at 100%, the light is full on green. I do not now exactly at what percentage above 83% it goes to full green, though.
