But after that you should be able to install v25 OTA?

Yes.
But it would be better to have a v25 zip anyway.

The first option worked perfectly. Thanks!

The only problem is that Android v25 cannot be installed in this way (not listed on the web page), so I had to use v23.

My cosmo is triple boot (Android, Gemian, UBports). I am selling the device and interested buyers want only Android. How can I achieve an Android-only Cosmo?

you shouldn't need to rewrite the `boot.img`
Last time I checked, the boot.img files differed between versions. So, better rewrite it?

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Android update from V23 to offered V25 fails
« on: September 04, 2021, 05:00:51 am »
I should add that my device is triple boot (with Gemian and UBports) and Android has 30 GB. I tried the Android update several times, but the update is reported as failed after accepting the update and rebooting.

So, the OS seems to matter a lot. My original report was for UBports.

The solution that worked for UBports on my Cosmo (I don't need Codi at all):
Code: [Select]
sudo mount -o remount,rw /
sudo mv -v /usr/share/upstart/sessions/codi.conf{,.disabled}
sudo mount -o remount,ro /

Battery life for a turned-off Cosmo seems to be around 2 days. For users that use their device not as a daily driver or phone, this is really disappointing.

Has anybody reached higher values?

Is a physical kill-switch for the battery the only option to solve this? Is there a recipe for it?

There seems to be a limit of 2 downloadable files on this page. (From GitLab or from the maintainers?) This was a problem before. See https://gitlab.com/ubports/community-ports/android9/planet-cosmocom/planet-cosmocom/-/issues/2 for a report and a link to some backup copies.

Yes, 24 MB is too small. If you follow the instructions at https://github.com/gemian/gemian/wiki/UBPorts , please look at the word FLASHABLE. Only the artifacts with this mark can be used for the described installation. If there are none at the moment, I can share some older ones.

I am not sure that this helps, but a 128 GB card did not work for installing Gemian, while 64 GB and 32 GB cards worked fine.

userdata from Android is in partition 44 (i.e. /dev/mmcblk0p44 ). But the partition is encrypted on my Cosmo. I don't know how to mount such an encrypted android partition.

Gemian or UBports?

A new Ubports build is available.
But the latest one labelled 'flashable' is still the one mentioned by silniazpieciu.
