The login for PDAXROM on windoze using VMware is the same as the Z.  Root followed by startx (someone asked in a PM and I thought others might have same q).

FWIW dillo on windoze / vmware makes firefox look like a turtle in comparison.  The price is a few pages render wierd or don't work at all

Thanks.  I have two already (my wife has z also) and bought / scored another two.  Even though they are not OEM, if anything they seem to be lasting longer than the OEM batteries (which may have been older when we got our Zs)

I have the same problem with PDAXROM.  I noticed in a thread where people were posting their ages that most were two decades younger than me.  Young whipersnappers.  Wait to when they have to deny the need for reading glasses.

Anyway,  there are several things you can do to mitigate.  Type xrandr -s 1 into the terminal and everything gets too large as resolution cut in half (same command with 0 at end or restart fix resolution).  Also, I run the PDAXROM version for VMware on my windoze entertainment PC.  Since its linux you can usually figure out yourself or with forum help how to tweak font for various applications. But with these interventions you get around the catch 22 of having to read the font in order to make it larger. It is also easy to tweak the font for the XFCE windows manager.  If all else fails try blueberry juice.  You can delude yourself into thinking it is helping your vision.  Good luck.

I have the c700 and c860.  Relative to the considerable hardware innovation evident in the c700 there has been little innovation since. In my view the minor upgrades Sharp has made do not justify all of the model changes.

Good idea.  I can live without the mouse.  The major difference in the newest version of XFCE on my desktop AFAIK is they redesigned the mouse wallpaper.  Thx

Zaurus - pdaXrom / C700 Xfce What Files To Delete 4 Memory Boost

I'm trying to run kdepim on a c700.  Most applications on ext2 sd card.  But I'm only using xfce so there are probably default windows manager files that could be deleted.  I learned the hard way not to delete matchbook files.  NAND backup saved me.  

What can I safely delete.  Its almost running smoothly if I can delete another 2k.  Thx

Cxx0 Hardware / Zaurus Repairal Service ?

This is reminding me that there is no word from pricejapan or response to my email about the status of my z860 repair.  Sent it back to Japan over a month ago.  Usually Pricejapan has been quick to respond to emails.  Hopefully, it is just the holidays.  I will post back whether they respond to my next email and how well they do on the repair.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / 1.1.0beta1 Is Out!

I still have the bluetooth bluez,
load all four bluez packages, card detected, dun of phone detected with sdptools but ppp gets stuck and is unable to detect the dun address of my phone.  Bluetooth starts fine according to terminal.  

If anyone wants to post a brief idiot guide for how they got bluetooth to connect to a phone it would be greatly appreciated.  I'll bet I'm missing something obvious.  

In the meantime I'm stuck using cacko and xqt on my c700.  Cacko has no problem detecting my phone.  Miss using PDAXROM but broadband dillo bluetooth EVDO web surfing rocks  and I can only do it with cacko.

AFAIK Dillo can do cookies. Just go to home/zaurus/.dillo and edit the cookkie file (seperate from dillorc) to enable cookies

The automounter works for me on a c700 FWIW.  My c860 is offf at PriceJapan being fixed by Sharp (I hope).

Hey Zumi,
Just curious, does the nokia bluetooth card you are using work with the PDAXROM using the GUI alone and not tinkering with some config script.
To the best of my knowledge no one has listed a success with a BT card using the GUI alone without editing.
