Thanks for the info.

I believe I have a bit of information on the battery packs, voltages, and Z current requirements. Let me know if you want it. I don't have it with me (at work) but can probably still find it all at home.

If its not too much trouble V-Man that would be great.

Accessories / Back Charging

How much of a risk is it? My current battery pack uses 4 NiMH. If I use a diode will the internal resistance drop the voltage to the point where I need to add more batteries? Also, does anyone know what varience the Zaurus will tolerate on the input voltage?

Accessories / C7xx case re-revisited

I got a Lowepro case from the local Ritz Camera for ~$5. Vertical orientation, velcro belt strap, and it can hold a 2-3 CF-size cards or maybe a cable if you let the connectors hang outside the case. I mostly use it at work when listening to music. A friend of mine uses an old Palm keyboard case.

Security and Networking / bluetooth dialup problems
« on: June 14, 2004, 03:17:14 pm »
I\'m trying to connect with my Siemens S56 (Cingular), and the login goes fine (i.e. I get the globe). However I can\'t stay connected for more than 30 seconds. Any suggestions? Also, where are the log files for the login?

Thanks,

Software / Crimson Fields problem on the new Cacko QT ROM
« on: April 16, 2004, 04:52:22 pm »
I\'m trying to get it to run on my 860. When I click the icon it goes to the \'Please Wait\' screen for changing resolutions for a second then crashes. If I run it from the terminal, or set it to non-magnified mode I get a white bar with some color along the left side of the screen and I have to do a hard reset. I got all the libs listed on the homepage. There are three sdl libs and zlib (versions match). Has anyone else run into this? Is there a log file somewhere I could check for error message output?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Problem running Ultima4
« on: March 16, 2004, 04:00:00 am »
Now I\'m getting a new error.  \'xu4: error: unable to load datafiles: Is Ultima IV installed?\' Currently u4 is in /usr/lib/u4 and I have the zip under the ultima4 sub-directory. I did rename the zip and tried putting u4 under /usr only, but I still got the same error. Aside from the 4 SDL libs (obatined from pdaXrom.org feed) are there any other packages I need?  Again, Thanks in advance.

A window pops up very brielfy then I get dropped back to the terminal with error \'Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)\'

I have all four SDL files installed to /mnt/user.  u4 and the ultima zip are in /home/root. Oh, and I\'m running X11 on an 860. Thanks in advance.

What kind of printer support, if any, do AbiWord and gnumeric have? Are CF USB cards supported?

Software / Problem with the Sharp media player on tkc ROM
« on: January 04, 2004, 11:28:29 pm »
My MP3s are encoded at 192B/s, and I know this encoding format works because I could play all these songs with the Sharp Media Player before switching to the tkc ROM.

Whenever I try to play an mp3 file the playlist view vanishes and I get Qtopia, but the player is still open. If I hit cancel then the playlist pops up. Here is what I get from the command line.
Code: [Select]
QPixmap::convertFromimage: Cannot convert a null image mpegplayer

QPixmap::SmoothScale: Cannot convert a null image mpegplayer

Note: This is not an exact reproduction; these lines are repeated.

Then when I try to run an mp3

Code: [Select]
Illegal Instruction

At this point I get dumped to the prompt, but the player is still open. If I click the icon on the taskbar the playlist view comes back up. However I can play .wav files. All the video files work too. In the playlist (and in the files tab) view the mp3s have only a generic documents icon. Recenlty I installed gaim and had a problem where its icon didn\'t show up. I found a post here that gave the following fix.

Don\'t install libpng, instead make a symlink to libqte.

Code: [Select]
ln -s /home/QtPalmtop/lib/libqte.so.2.3.2 /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0

I don\'t if the gaim problem is related to the media player.
