Hi all. When I try to encrypt a file, I get the following error:

$ gpg -e -r userid file.txt
gpg: #######: There is no assurance this key belongs to the named user

pub  #####/##### YYYY-MM-DD userid
 Primary key fingerprint: ####
      Subkey fingerprint: ####

It is NOT certain that the key belongs to the person named
in the user ID.  If you *really* know what you are doing,
you may answer the next question with yes.

Use this key anyway? (y/N)Now when doing this interactively I can answer 'y' & it works fine. But I need to do this in a script & it fails because of this. The same keys work fine on my bsd box & worked fine in all other Z installs so far (sharp based & previous OZ rom's). I also tried signing the key, which didn't make a difference. It's my own, so the private key is available as well, if that makes any difference.

This is the first time I've tried hentges, so there must be some difference in the install that causing this? Anybody have any ideas? thks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Ssh Host Key Verification Failed

Hi all. When trying to ssh out as a 'normal' user (one I created), I get the error 'Host key verification failed', but it works fine if I do it as root. I tried regening the Z's host keys, but made no difference. Is there a way to get this to work? thks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Targus Pocket Modem

Hi all. Anybody know how to get my Targus Pocket Modem working under OZ 3.5.3? It works fine in sharp based roms. The Z indicates that a 'Serial or Modem' card has been inserted, but I don't know which network setting to use, or what dialing software/package can access it? thks

Software / How To Get Kino2 To Come Up Singing!

Hi all. Is there any way to be able to get kino2 to load & start playing a playlist of mp3's on automatically? With xmms I cam specify 'xmms -p' & it will load & play it's default playlist (~/.xmms/xmms.m3u). This way I can create an icon that I can just press & the music starts. I want to do the same thing for kino2. I've tried a number of things, from 'kino2 -p' to 'kino2 -p playlist.m3u'. nuttin'. Possible?

X/Qt / Newbie Needs Help Setting Up Xqt

Hi all. I'm not quite sure what to expect, so I'd appreciate a 'beginners guide' of sorts. I've install the packages on the ext2 formatted partition of my sd card as per the doc page, but when I run the xqt icon all I get is a a grey-ish screen with the X in the middle. The docs mention the menu key, but that does nothing. As well, I installed a couple of apps (dillo, xmms). How do I run them?

In case it matters, as I said I installed the packages to my ext2 partition using the ipkg command line utility & used ipkg-link to symlink. But again, I'm not even sure what kind of screen/interface I'm supposed to get on startup, so it might be something else.

Hi all. Currently the emails I get from 'watched' topics have the subject line "Topic Subscription Reply Notification ( From OE Forums )". Personally I'd rather have the topic in the subject line, something like "OESF: Re: Changing subject line of emails".

Assuming this is possible and agreeable to the powers that be, anybody else agree/disagree? Opinions? thks

Hi all. Can anybody confirm whether the Belkin BE2830 bluetooth cf card does or does not work with the Z (5600) or not? It's not listed here as supported. Good price for a bluetooth card & I'm looking to get a bluetooth phone in the near future, so may as well get prepared now. thks

Sharp ROMs / Howto Pocketop Keyboard

Hi all. I've recently acquired a Pocketop keyboard ($10 Canadian, can't beat that!) but can't seem to get it to work. I've installed the irk-zaurus_0.11.0_arm.ipk package from the ZUG feed & I have a new input device listed, which I've changed the settings to pocketop + 5600 & restarted Qtopia so I have a cute icon of a kangaroo on my taskbar.

I've tried lining up the Z with the keyboard both before & after I select the icon &  select the On button, but nothing happens. There doesn't seem to be any visual indication on the keyboard that it's on (the keyboard is second hand & didn't come with a manual, I managed to find this one, but it's not much help). I'm not even sure if the keyboard itself is actually working. I try typing, hitting the Date/Address/etc buttons, nuttin'.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I figured I'd move this over to it's own topic from here.

I've got a SMC2642W CF card:

  no product info availablethat connects using WEP just fine using OPIE, but won't connect at all in GPE, WEP or no. How can I tell 1) what driver it's trying to use now, 2) what driver I need to use, and 3) where to get the driver & how to load it?

FWIW I did the same thing that worked in OPIE to get my card to be recognized, I added the card as the first entry in /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf:

5x00 General discussions / 5600 Home Not Being Formatted

Hi all. I'm reflashing my 5600. I reset & run the Update from the Maintenance Menu, which reports that the kernel & image are updated without errors, reset & then run the Format, which to my understanding is supposed to clean out the /home partition, correct? Why then after the reboot do I still see all of my old files under /home?

My main concern is that some of my old stuff in /home/root may interfere with the new setup. I've backed up everything, I'd like to start from a clean slate. Anything anybody can offer would be greatly appreciated. thks

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Opie-camera Problems

I don't know if this is an OZ problem, but it worked for me under 3.5.2.

I've installed ope-camera () & Mickeyl's sharp-camera-support_2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix-r4_poodle.ipk from vanille.de. The problems are is that I can't snap images at greater than 320x240 or the image gets repeated/duplicated several times in the file (I can post an example if desired). As well, I can't take more than one picture without manually changing the prefix. The first gets name 'name-1.jpg', but it doesn't create a 'name-2.jpg', etc. If I change the prefix to 'newname' I then will get 'newname-1.jpg', for example.

Anybody else having similar problems? thks

Sharp ROMs / 5600: Installing Apps To An Sd Card

Hi all. When I was using OZ I had gotten used to depending on ipkg & ipkg-link, but since I moved over to Watapon on my 5600 I've been struggling to get apps installed onto my sd card.

My card is currently divided into 2 partitions, the first fat (so 'doze could get at it) the other ext2 (for installing apps). But according to this FAQ entry I should just be able to install apps to a fat formatted card, which I tried & seems to work for most stuff.

So should I just fdisk the card again & go back to one large fat partition, or does a sharp-based rom have any good use for a ext2 partitioned card? And what about the second partition, how can I get the gui package manager to recognize it? And is the gui package manager dependable enough to rely on (another thing currently with OZ), or should I keep on using ipkg?

Sharp ROMs / How To Change Wireless Driver

Hi all. I just loaded Watapon ROM 1.4.1 on my 5600 & it looks like a nice setup (the author mention 1.5.6 here but the page only has 1.4.1). Anyway, I can't get either my usb or cf wireless connections to work. I'll start with the wireless first.

I've entered all of the same info in the Network Settings that worked for me under OZ, so I'm thinking it can't be that. The Current tab only says 'currrently connecting', and the in the Access Point box 'unable to detect'. So this suggests its a card module/driver problem(?) In the System Info it shows the prism2_cs module loaded. How can I tell what others are available & how can I change that & what should I change it to for my card?

Software / Fast Load Programs Crashing After Suspend Problems

Hi all. My problem specifically happens with the pisync apps (kopi, kapi & mopi v2.02), but when I have any of them set to fast load (which for kopi is almost a necessity:?>), when my Z comes back out of suspend I get an application error box saying the app was sigterm'd & the fast load has been disabled. Anybody else experience this & any work-arounds? thks
