Quote from: dzHas anyone tried this? Is it worth it for us to create a sub-forum for it? From everything I've read, it seems like a pretty cool device and is kinda in the realm of the other devices we support here.
Thoughts/Opinions?
Nice device but does this mean that the Z community will cease to exist?
Have a satisfactory, non-denominational, capitalist, wintertime gift-giving season, everyone (just to be politically correct )
Seriously, though, thanks for all you do here, dz (and the other Admins/moderators).
At $200, even $250 I'd buy it in a heartbeat. $400 means I don't buy something else that might be more useful for my purposes, like a vostro, a nanobook or a 3epc. Given that I already have a Z I should be looking at something that overlaps the Z's uses less and compliments the Z more, I think.
hmmmm.
Quote from: dzMost of you probably know about the OLPC Laptop program. Pretty neat little laptop thingy they have going. They have their two week 'give 1 get 1' program and it's for a good cause.
Anyway, I'm gonna order one just because I think it's a good way to promote Linux and I'll probably give the Laptop as a Christmas gift to one of my little cousins. Figured I'd let those that haven't been following it know about it in case they were interested.
Here's a link to the program: http://www.laptopgiving.org/en/index.php
And some specs on the laptop itself: http://bc.tech.coop/blog/071112.html
Peace =]
I really ought to buy one (public education career and all). I've been a big fan of the project, and i think it deserves support (my wife may disagree at the sight of the price vs any claim to "needing it I might make). Are they all kermit green, though?
Edit: in the meantime I think I'll have a look at the qemu image
the quickstartguide seems simple enough: Here
I opened a ticket up with IPB. I'll let you know what they say.
Just an update: extensions went in on Wednesday 24th October. Up to the minute, 2:30 pm Friday 26th BST, not one item of spam has come across the radar! Long may it continue!
