Personally I\'m running tkcVideo on my 860 (and my 5600) and it performs flawlessly.  Full screen on the 860 in landscape mode.  I\'ve got a 4Gb Hitachi that I\'ve got 8 full-length movies on and it\'s wonderful for long flights (and longer waits !).  Just my two cents worth.

General Discussion / Watch movies with my cd player

Errr, CD players don\'t play movies, DVD players do.  You can always rip the DVD, squeeze it down and just watch it directly on the Zaurus without having to hook anything else up.  There are some great threads out here about how to do that and you may also want to look here.   http://forum.pocketmovies.net/viewtopic.php?t=977

Personally, since I travel a lot and spend a ton of time on flights and waiting in airports, I just load \'em up with movies.  I can get between 5 and 9 full-length movies on one 4Gb card and the quality is quite good.  I get a lot of weird looks and curious questions, so that\'s the downside !  :-)

Omicron, you\'re a genius !  Followed your instructions to the letter (even the paranoia part !) and it worked like a charm.  Thanks so much for having this out here.  This would INDEED be a great item for the FAQ\'s.

Omi:  THough I just have the one, I haven\'t been able to get it to work with my 860,  aarrggghhh !@  Care to give me some of your words o\' wisdom on how you got \'em going ?  Mine shows the CF icon, but I can\'t get to anything, and mount seems to fail.  I can use these on my PC (Xp Pro with a CF adapter), but no joy in the Zaurus.  Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

Deals and Great Z Buys / 4gig CF microdrive for $199 US!!

ashikase, Could you please post some instructions on how to do this ?  I think I may be having the same problem with this drive for my 860.  CF icon shows up, but can\'t browse through the file manager to any files.  I\'ve formatted in XP as FAT32 and it formats fine, works fine in my other devices, but doesn\'t work properly on the C860.  Your experience would be really valuable to the group (at least to me !)   Thanks !

Maybe that price is just for the one I returned to them after I got my C-860 !

mls64.  I synch every day with Outlook 2003 (everything except e-mail) and it works great.  Just make sure you follow the instructions that are out here for setting it up initially, no big deal.

I\'d really suggest looking seriously into tkc\'s e-mail program.  It truly kicks \'A\'

If you\'re talking about \"K\" who has 100% great feedback, including some from me (shafferb) you won\'t be disappointed.  This guy is first class all the way.  I just can\'t say enough about how responsive he was, and how he really delivers on what he promises.  All too rare, but \"K\" is just a great guy.  My two cents worth.

Since I\'ve had them both I can say that, for me, the clamshell is definitely the superior device.  Really easy to use, much better keyboard, brighter screen, and no real problems with the English conversion.  It\'s smaller than the 6000 (which is freakin\' HUGE) and uses readily available batteries and the external battery charger.  And yes, I really did send my 6000 back to Amazon once I got the 860 !  Enjoy !

Accessories / Bluetooth - CF or AirCable??
« on: April 21, 2004, 08:32:14 pm »
I\'m using the AirCable on my C-860 with no problems, though it does take a bit of editing to one file to get it working the first time.  Can\'t really tell you about the other bluetooth cards, I don\'t use \"tooth\" very frequently, but when I do the AirCable has been satisfactory and doesn\'t seem to take much power.

Accessories / Bad 2.2 GB CF Card...

I\'m using that same drive in my C-860 (though I\'ve also used it in my 5600 and my 6000L) and it works fine.  It\'s formatted through Windows XP-Pro as Fat-32 and formats to 2 Gb.  I\'ve got all 4 of the Lord of the Rings extended edition movies on it, and have watched at least two of them back-to-back with no problems.  Switched in my other battery, and watched the other two.  IBM 2GB microdrive also works perfectly.  My new Hitachi 4 Gb is having some \"issues\" though.  Aaarrrggghhh !
