Zaurus - pdaXrom / Gplflash 2, [working]

My mistake, it does still fail at that point.
I fudged configure to finish, but make fails while linking with libXxf86vm.

Specifiy --x-includes and --x-libraries to configure.
Then it builds fine.

Hi,

Is there a way to use the arrow keys (combined with another key) to move the cursor around ?
It's possible on SHARP ROM using "Input-Helper".
It's annoying to use the stylus.

I think it's possible by editing /etc/xdg/openbox/rc.xml and /etc/x11/kb/akita.xmodmap
but I don't know the commands either for moving up/down/left/right or tapping on the screen or how to set the speed of motion, ...

Thanks for any help.

It's easy if you use FVWM.
Something like this in your .fvwm2rc
Code: [Select]
Key Left    A    MC    CursorMove -1 0
Key Right    A    MC    CursorMove +1 +0
Key Up  A    MC    CursorMove +0   -1
Key Down    A    MC    CursorMove +0   +1

Couldn't tell you about the *box window managers, I never tried.

... So it would be wonderful if someone can get OpenSP and libofx compiled ...

Here is the dev stuff.  Sorry, they are not in packages.
The static libs and docs have been removed.  Nothing is stripped.

OpenSP_dev_1.5.1_armv5tel.tar.gz
libofx_dev_0.8.0_armv5tel.tar.gz

Here are the packages.
No docs or includes and everything is stripped.

Thanks for your handy tips, dtruchan!  Now I feel much safer safe to plunge into different interesting wm.

BTW here is my screenshot mimicking the one in TUX.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Windowmaker & (x)vim For Pdaxrom?

There is a full vim 6.4 compiled by dtruchan not long ago.  I'm using it and it runs fast and great (despite its size)
https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15722

As for WindowMaker, I also wanna give it a try.  The menus look great and very handy.  But why does the bottommost portrait screenshot look a bit weird as the lower part of it seems not to be displaying anything... or is it just my eye problem?
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I know it's big.
The vim binary alone is 1.2M
You can clean up some stuff, I packaged everything.

/usr/share/vim/vim64/tutor/   ~670K
/usr/share/vim/vim64/doc/     ~4.2M
/usr/share/vim/vim64/syntax/ ~3.5M
/usr/share/vim/vim64/lang/    ~780K

I get rid of tutor, doc and lang (make sure you keep the ones you need).
I keep only the syntax files I need.

Thats quite a bit of space back, ~8M.

The packages is [a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15722]here[/url].

Thanks for WindowMaker iamphet.

I have one question: it seems WindowMaker has overwritten and replaced my original startup script for matchbox, so my question is: what shall I do in case I need to switch to matchbox?

Here is what I do on my Desktop and Zaurus:

create an xinintrc for each window manager in /etc/X11/xinit
(create xinitrc.matchbox from the original ~/.xinitrc)
Code: [Select]
xinitrc.matchbox
xinitrc.fvwm
xinitrc.ratpoison
etc ...
copy your xmodmap line from xinitrc.matchbox into your other xinitrc files.
Put your window manager filename last

here is what my xinitrc files looks like:

xinitrc.matchbox
Code: [Select]
It looks just like yours, so I wont paste it here.
xinitrc.fvwm
Code: [Select]
xmodmap /etc/X11/kb/corgi.xmodmap
xset s off
fvwm

xinitrc.ratpoison
Code: [Select]
xmodmap /etc/X11/kb/corgi.xmodmap
xset s off
ratpoison

then create a a startx for each window manager in /usr/X11R6/bin.
Code: [Select]
startx.matchbox
startx.fvwm
startx.ratpoison
etc ...
edit each startx file and change the sysclientrc variable to point to the specific xinitrc file.
Here is the line from startx.fvwm
Code: [Select]
...
sysclientrc=/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.fvwm
...
Then remove ~/.xinitrc

That's all.

This way I can start any window manager by just running the appropriate startx.

Anyone have imlib2 compiled for pdaXrom? There were some old links to an ipk in the forum from 2004 but the links are dead.

TIA,

As for mrxvt, how to enable transparent display in matchbox (there is no .Xdefaults)?  Thanks!

[Update]
Got it!  Just create a ~/.mrxvtrc or ~/.Xdefaults and refer to this:
http://materm.sourceforge.net/docs/xdefaults-sample.txt

This is what I have only:
Code: [Select]
mrxvt*vt0*tabTitle:        term1
mrxvt*vt1*tabTitle:        term2
mrxvt*vt2*tabTitle:        term3
mrxvt*initTermNumber:      3
mrxvt*transparent:         True
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=103958\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

You can also use 'Ctrl+Shift+r' toggle transparency.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=103970\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Is it a mode to have semi-transparent background ? With the solutions above the background is all trasparent but i want a semi-traspearent background....
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=104184\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

If you just want to make the background darker you could use the tint and shade options.
for example:
Code: [Select]
mrxvt -tr -shade 50 -tint white
If you want a truly transparent background, you will have to wait for the Composite extension to be built for pdaXrom.
