Zaurus - pdaXrom / Missing Zgcc Image For Pdaxii13v2

Hi, i was trying to find the zgcc image to compile some applications fot pdaXii13v2,but
the link in http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/build/ are broken...
So... anyone knows where to find it?

I know the chances of you responding to this are almost null, but I have to try.

When I try to install this on pdaXii13, I am getting an error about a missing shared object file: libcairomm-1.0.so.1. I have cairo installed, but apparently libcairomm are the C++ bindings. I could only find a debug package for Armstrong, but nothing for pdaXrom. Do you have any ideas of what needs to be done to get this file? I'm really wishing to play GNUDoku!

I will be doing that in a couple of days. I just learned how to compile natively, and my first release is going to be Fluxbox 1.0.0, and I will be starting a thread for that probably later today (just dealing with a minimal issue at the moment.)

I don't know if there is any place to upload new ipk releases or not, but we'll deal with that when the time comes.  

I'm having a lot of fun setting things up and learning how to do new things, I hope my efforts can benefit other people as well!

definitely looking forward to the release. I have been using the kopi without an alarm...

Zaurus - pdaXrom / The Definitive Fix For Kopi Alarm Issues

I know this has been an ongoing problem for many people under pdaXrom, and I hope this fix will encourage some users to get back to using pdaXrom in their Zaurii.

The issue involved general unreliability with KOPI alarms due to failure to wake up the Zaurus before an alarm would take place. Additionally, I found a bug in one of the scripts which was preventing suspended alarms from being considered under certain conditions. This has been thoroughly tested under pdaXii13, and should work equally well with pdaXrom. As always, I advise you to perform a NAND backup before installing.

The hwclock script saves and retrieves the time in UTC format. In my testing, I have found that it is the only way to maintain consistent times across reboots. If your hardware clock was last set using a different time zone, the time will be wrong on your first resume after installing the package. It suffices to set the time via datentime.py again, and it should remain consistent after that. This is due to the fact that hwclock keeps time in a raw format without timezone information. The only requirement is consistency in specifying a time zone for interpretation of the raw value between writes and reads.

Without further ado, I'm attaching the packages. I include:
KDEPIM/PI (Not needed if your KDEPIM/PI version is already capable of playing sound alarms.)
kopi-apm (A revision which fixes the logic which was preventing suspended alarms from kicking in.)
atd (You need this if you don't already have atd installed.)
hwclock-atd (This modifies the /etc/apm/scripts.d/hwclock script to work with atd.)

Thank you, Jon. I went through the pdaXii13v2 thread. I am going to try modifying the update IPK in order to see if I can change the process to upgrade from a local feed in SD (with the file that you posted, I have a complete copy of the feed in my computer.)

If I understand correctly, any package from Beta1, Beta3, and pdaXii13 should also work in pdaXii13v2 (but not necessarily the other way around.) Those applications specific to pdaXii13v2 that you mention, are they anything different from what is in the official pdaXii13v2 feed? I see a lot of the newer packages in the New Packages Announcement thread are using the Kazakov libraries. I also know that pdaXii13v2 is basically formed around the Kazakov updates. Are those apps by Kazakov and others which work with his libraries what you are referring to? Will those apps work in pdaXii13v2?

I also used to have Cacko in one of my Zaurii, but I have replaced it with pdaXrom. What do you find in Cacko that you can't do in pdaXrom? I'm just curious, because pdaXii13v2 is working great for me. I'm using fluxbox too, which might explain why I like it so much (I'm a fluxbox guy.)

I'm configuring my Akita pdaXii13 installation from scratch at the moment. Within the next few days I should be tackling creating an xmodmap file. It will likely not be perfect, but I will post it here when I'm done in case you want to take a look. Thanks for your awesome work, by the way.

Thank you very much! This was the only package missing. Now I can consider upgrading from 5.4.9 to v2. Jon, is that the version that you are using? I would like to upgrade because all the latest packages (transmission for example) seem to not want to work with v1's libraries. Is v2 as stable as v1?

sorry I have not been following this thread for a while...
I have the whole tex distribution on z. I remember compiling a paper in AMS airport once. You can get a distribution at

Wow, incredible news!  

With some of the changes that you mention, it gives me hope that it will finally be possible to install pdaXrom in a SD card. I tried really hard to get this working at some point, also with Cacko, but to no avail.

Sharp ROMs / Lost My Sharp Rom For 5600

I changed ROMs and now want to go back to the original Sharp ROM for my SL-5600.  Problem is - I can't find it!  Any idea where I can get it?  I'm dead in the water.

Make sure that it's what you want before you flash your Zaurus, or you may (supposedly) brick it though.
