Accessories / my lit monster

Hi!
1. Yes you can run java apps on your zaurus.
2. Yes, you can connect a mini printer  but if you can get it to work, i don\'t know, sorry...
3. Yes, you can run it. Look at killefiz.de/zaurus for more information. MySQL and apache / Portabase etc. are already packaged for the zaurus, so you can run a database (mysql+apache and browser or portabase etc.)

Sharp ROMs / Freeciv on xqt?
« on: April 15, 2004, 10:28:00 am »
Hi!
Has anyone already tried to make freeciv run on xqt?
xqt.sourceforge.jpg

I\'m using cacko qtopia 1.21.
I installed xqt with fluxbox and it\'s running fine.
So I thought, because the pdaXrom-libs are available in pdaXrom-sdk, it should be possible to install freeciv. But when I\'m trying to start freeciv, it says, there were some problems with libX11.so (i don\'t remember the error-message anymore, sorry...)

After this error, I decided to ask, because it\'s much easier
If somebody already did, why do it again...
If not, I have to try myself again... :-/

Hi!
For \"some\" linux information look at tldp.org! There you\'ll find Howtos

For some very basic information:
(Sorry if you\'re not THAT new to linux):
cd   -  go to a directory (.. = parent directory ; . = current directory)
ls - list files (content of directories etc)
mv - move files (mv FILE1 FILE2 = move file1 to file2)
cp - same as mv, but file1 isn\'t deleted
rm - remove file(s)

for most commands you can add the \"--help\" parameter, it shows you the program-help. example: mv --help

Sharp ROMs / HELP
« on: April 13, 2004, 04:46:14 pm »
Thanks for the reply, but at the HOWTOS-Page there aren\'t any ROM-HowTos. There aren\'t any PressureSensitivity HowTos either. After a bit of googling i already found the petitepeinture-homepage. But I did it right (su -c \'echo 1]/proc/tspressure\'). I thought, maybe anybody had tested \"Petitepeinture\". My third (not really a problem) point is the overclocking. Is it safe to overclock my zaurus to 471 MHz or is he getting too hot?

PS: I am not searching for some hints to get started, because I already have started.

Thanks, jabbath

I think, it should be enough, if you just type
Code: [Select]
gzip IPK_NAME;mv IPK_NAME.gz IPK_NAME
and reinstall it

I think, TKC Apps should run on Cacko.
Maybe it\'s a Problem with the ipk format??? How did you try to install the package? Try to extract the contents and repackage it.

Sharp ROMs / HELP
« on: April 13, 2004, 12:06:22 pm »
Hi!
I recently flashed my C760 with Cacko Qtopia \"Elena\" 1.21.

1. WOW! Thanks for the ROM! Where do I get Information on how to create my own ROM? Are there Howtos / Could anybody tell me?

2. I tried to use Petitepeinture with pressure sensitivity, but it doesn\'t work. (I think, the brushsize has to increase with more pressure) - I marked the menupoint \"sync pen width\" and added \"min mid and max\" values.
I also did \"su -c \'echo 1 ] /proc/tspressure\'\" :-/

3.Is it safe to overclock my zaurus to 471MHz?

I use the linux 2.6-kernel since a while, so i can\'t  say anything about the difference between 2.4 and 2.6, but my System works fine:
Laptop: Debian (experimental) - Linux-2.6.5-mm4
Zaurus: CackoROM 1.2 \"Daniela\"

Sharp ROMs / japanese Rom without NAND restore
« on: April 07, 2004, 03:07:59 pm »
Thanks for the repl/y/ies  edit
Are there HowTos, so that I could make a japanese ROM by myself?

edit:
@TuxInvader:
Yes, your intentions are not possible
If you make a backup, it just backs up everything except the data from the ROM :-/
The other possibility would be to make a NAND-Backup, but that\'s not what I want, \'cause I don\'t want to play with the service-menu.

So, again  :
Is it possible to roll up a japanese ROM like the original sharpROM??
Are there HowTos??

thanks a lot, jabbath

Sharp ROMs / japanese Rom without NAND restore
« on: April 07, 2004, 10:03:49 am »
Hi there!
I\'m running the english modified SharpRom by sash after trying the pdaXrom. Now I\'d like to flash the original japanese ROM without a NAND-Restore. Is it possible to get a ROM with an initrd.bin, tools.tar and updater.sh? How is the sashrom made?
Were do I get the japanese Rom-Sources and how do I make a Rom from it? Are there HowTos?

thanks, jabbath
