Hmm, not too fond of the Omegamoon kernel?
How about an upgrade to the 2.6.30 kernel then. I just got a working version ;-)

A link would be a good idea as I havent found a reference to some archive or whatever

i am having a problem formating my cards when i format them in ubuntu 8.10 with gparted installed it says i dont have permission to put the files into the cards and i ahve used my root and my normal login info in and made my regular login a root style login and still no luck help please i would love to get this working

I had the same problem on and off for quite some time. So sometimes it worked, but most times it didn't. I finally bought a new card reader, which solved all these problems. So for me it was "just" a shitty reader.

Are you talking to yourself again?  
I baked you a spitz kernel with EABI & OABI support. Kernel can be found here and the corresponding modules here. I didn't test the result, so that's up to you  
Please let us know the outcome of the tomtom experiment. It would make the Zaurus an even cooler device!

Always make sure you have a swap partition. You could also try to use distcc, but I prefer using Qemu for doing "native" compilation.

Thanks a lot. The Qemu option is seems promising.

And thanks for Zubuntu, cortez. This is definitely one of the best pieces I could play with in the last years. Any news from the Ubuntu people?

Glad you like it. The 2.6.28 kernel is getting along pretty well. If only I could figure out why the device won't suspend when pressing the on/off button. I'm sooooo close to a solution, but it takes hours and hours of debugging. I still have to test a lot of stuff, like brightness control, sound, ext4 and overclocking, which is compiled in this time

I tried Netbook Remix some months ago, but as Capn_Fish said it needs GLX support.
As a result of that, it's terribly slooooow!

So don't even think about using it, it's (at least currently) not worth the effort.
If you want to use a launcher, try lxlauncher instead. It may not be as good looking as Netbook Remix, but it's useable!

Since there still is no good alternative for the Zaurus, and since playing around with these little wonder machines is way too much fun I decided not to sell  
Should not be too hard to get yourself one of these devices though. I hope we can welcome you here soon as a proud new Zaurus owner

Thanks same, finally I can get my 3200 wifi on with Zubuntu.

However, I notice it can't get online if the ssid is hidden (not broadcast)...

Anyway, does anyone ever able to get sound on 3100 or 3200?

To get sound going, run alsamixer and unmute all channels. This should do the trick

I read this topic closly but didn't find how make my CF cards work.
pxa2xx_cs, ide_cs, dtl1_cs modules loaded.
I did pccardctl insert and then pccardctl info
Nothing
lspcmcia show nothing.
I tried CF memory and CF Socket BT
Who can explain me how can I make CF work?

Any reason to hope for development on Tosa? I know you mentioned it earlier...just hoping for an update.

My wishlist is tend to get longer and longer, and yes, on that list is support for theTosa. It's not currently something I'm working on though.

I would like to try Zubuntu on my c860. It has languished for a long time. But do I gather from the above that there are extra files I need to make it work? I have found the following:

You're right, the hinge detection is b0rked somehow. I will have a look to find out if this can easily be fixed.
The same applies by the way to the Spitz and Akita models, auto-rotation doesn't work on these either.
