Software / Registering Tree!Explorer QT+
« on: May 16, 2004, 11:48:29 pm »
I\'m trying to actually purchase & register Tree!Explorer QT+ for my 860.  It is an awesome file tree and text editor rolled in one, but it needs registration to fully function (i.e. make any changes to files).  Haven\'t seen anything that I like nearly as much, however, I can\'t seem to get the web page to load in order to pay for it.  Their homepage is here:

http://hpcgi2.nifty.com/taku2001/zau/texpl...rerqt_p/top.cgi

The registration is at some site called Vector, but it won\'t load, and of
course the homepage is in Japanese, so it is worse than hieroglyphics to me:

https://sw.vector.co.jp/swreg/step1.reserve...e?srno=SR040167

The app installed perfectly (and in English!) and I\'d like to use it.
Anyone know how I might register this app or get in touch with the developer?

Thanks

Cxx0 General discussions / PIM suggestions (and ROM?) for new C860
« on: May 16, 2004, 03:08:40 pm »
Hello Zfolk,

I finally got Intellisync working (somewhat, still having errors w/Calendar) and figured out that the PIM is pretty lame.
So I\'m soliciting input regarding PIM apps and maybe a ROM.

Necessities for PIM:
- sync with Outlook on XP- gotta have it
- well-developed and reliable email, Calendar, Address, ToDo apps

ROM (Cacko, OZ, or pdaXrom?)
- TCP/IP connectivity to Windows for file transfer
- solid Notes, text editor, browser
- necessity to have Word and Excel compatible apps
- photo and video viewer apps
- wifi capability and packet sniffer
- Linux expertise not necessary

Could I go back to the original ROM if I don\'t like a ROM I changed to?
Also, will changing the ROM void Dynamism\'s warranty?

Thanks!

Cxx0 General discussions / Intellisync not working w/my 860
« on: May 15, 2004, 02:05:37 pm »
I\'ve spent countless hours trying to get Intellisync to transfer data from Outlook XP to my new 860, to no avail.  Also have spent hours searching the FAQ and the Forums, also with no solution.

I am able to transfer files via Samba from my XP computer (all using the USB cable) so the network connection I know is functioning.  But when I try to use Intellisync, it sometimes gives me the error \"Communication was Aborted\" in PC Link on the Z.  I\'ve tried USB I/O and USB TCP/IP, have changed the TCP/IP properties for the network devices back and forth from static IP to DHCP (samba works under DHCP), disabled firewall and Norton, etc.

Also - I\'ve seen several references to \"Zaurus Manager\" software.   What is that, do I need it, and where do I get it?  I just have Intellisync installed.

Can anyone help?  This is quite frustrating.

Deals and Great Z Buys / Deals on SD cards
« on: May 10, 2004, 02:54:55 pm »
I found a couple of bargains on SD cards:

Buy.com has the Simpletech Pro-X fast SD 256mb for $60.69 : http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=...02&loc=101&sp=1

and Sandisk 512mb SD for $99.99, this one is today only (assuming that this is the made in Japan model which works): http://www.buy.com/retail/clearance/dotd.a...14&sku=70012130

(no connection to the seller - just passing on some deals - I grabbed one of the Simpletech cards)

Accessories / SD vs CF flash cards?
« on: May 07, 2004, 05:54:14 pm »
Can someone point me to (or fill me in) a quick primer on SD versus CF memory cards?  Which ones are better, more functional, etc. for the Z, and the pros and cons of each.

Can\'t wait to get my Z C860 next week!

Thanks!
