Zaurus - pdaXrom / gjots2
« on: October 22, 2004, 02:14:15 am »
Try tuxcards 1.1

It compiles without any problem and the binary runs fine on my Z
it looks about the same as gjots

(i'm only having problems creating an ipk - see other thread)

Cheers

I did use the SDK-tutorial
Compiling was OK, but mkipkg didn't work.
I'll try again this evening, I'm sure I'm just missing something.

BTW - the binary runs fine, every option seems to work

hi,

I was able to compile tuxcards 1.1 for pdaXrom, but when it comes to creating an ipk, i'm just not skilled enough.

I tried different ways, but always got stuck.

The compiled binary runs fine on my z, just wanted to create an ipk to share it with other people.

Maybe somebody else wants to give it a go ?
You can find the source on www.tuxcards.de

cheers,

For Sale / Wanted / Wanted : Decent case
« on: October 15, 2004, 05:01:37 am »
Hi,

I'm looking for a decent case to carry my SL-C860 and my phone around

I found this one on the internet, but it doesn't seem available in Europe:
http://www.niteize.com/ClipCasePDA.html

I'd really like to have a case like this !

Could anyone inform me on where I can find it in Europe ?
It seems available on several US-sites, but they don't want to send it to Europe or they ask 120 USD to do so.

Or is there somebody out there in the US who would buy one for me and send it to Belgium?
I'll pay for shipping etc. of course. (I'm sure it can be sent over for quite a lot less than 120 USD)

Chero.

btw : installing cacko 1.21 is a better option in my opinion

good luck

ok,

this seems to work, though I did:

ln -s /usr/lib/qt/lib /usr/lib/kde3
(not just one file/ but the full dir)

now i can add and import contact, still have to find out how to save
It does not seem to do this quite right

I had the same problem

When installing bluez-* from the feed, kapi starts, but I can't add contacts etc.

It says "no recources found" or something like that. I already copied a few files from my win2k-box, now I have less errors when starting, but still no go in adding contacts or importing files.

Anyone who has got it working ?

Software / KO/PI on Win98
« on: September 03, 2004, 09:34:54 am »
Have you tried creating the dir's first ?
Before I did this on WIN98 I also had runtime errors
Maybe you should give it a try first, before reinstalling win98 and all apps

good luck

Hi,

I installed Ko/Pi 193 on Win98 and all runs quite nice

Just downloaded the DLL's, placed them in the same dir as kopi.exe

I had to create a dir C:/kdepim/... (apps/config/...) to be able to save data and settings
(on my WIN2000 kopi did this)

So I think it should run without additional files

I've also been suggested pdaXrom. But in both cases, I need to transfer to ROM to the Z and this isn't easy either. I think I can use my old Psion as a CF reader and move my old CF card to the Zaurus.
I think this is what you should do first.

- Just download the rom you choose, copy to yoour CF (using the psion ?)
- Flash (follow the instructions)

No need to install the terminal app first

forgot this :

if you manually change from upper to lower for a few contact, then these are read correctly while the others still have "other" phone numbers

I m posting this from my Z - so dont mind the layout

I think i know where the "other" thing comes from

KaPi on windows users upper case for HOME  -  CELL  -  WORK  etc

KaPi on zaurus uses lower case

once you copy your std.vcf from one to another, the numbers are all marked as "other" and if you save, the HOME, etc are gone

Software / Useful Qt programs for SL760?
« on: April 23, 2004, 01:30:48 am »
I installed Tuxcards, looks like a great program to me.

Still a few bugs in it ?
- can\'t change the font of the tree (it\'s saved in options, but font doesn\'t change in tree)
- when trying to select \"lcfont\" TuxCards crashes

The rest seems to work fine
Thanks Zautrix.
