C1000/3x00 Hardware / Keyboard Replacement For Zaurus C-1000
« on: January 18, 2009, 08:35:00 am »
Hi,
if i remember it right, the keyboard flexible film is not available
as a seperate sparepart. It's a "unit", Sharp purchased from
Mitsumi with the PWB and film together.

Ask Brett at Conics, if he's able to get one from the spare part
center in Japan.

Fingers crossed

General Discussion / Zaurus Out Of Production?
« on: October 15, 2008, 04:48:48 am »
Hi all,
Quote from: speculatrix
Hey Trisoft,
any news on latest manufacturing dates?
yes, sad news. Last production run was March 2008.
And we're now out of stock with new units. Looks like
it's now really over and out.

And the Edelweiss looks really pretty. Thanks for the
link, never noticed it before.

General Discussion / Zaurus Out Of Production?

Hi Speculatrix,
Quote from: speculatrix
Trisoft, any news about whether Sharp have manufactured any new batches of Zs recently
last batch of SL-C1000 we got were produced in January 2008.
We also looked a bit puzzled about a 2008 production run.
"Officially" they're over and out since late 2007, but we still get some.

sure, no problem.
Source is Sharp spare parts center.
Part number is VVLS040V7DD01 for the complete display unit (backlight,
display, touchscreen).
Only the unit is available, you can't get f.e. only the touchscreen part.
Price is about 270 EUR plus VAT.

Crossing fingers, that the part you ordered will work.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / C1000 With Broken Screen
« on: January 07, 2008, 06:40:44 am »
Hi all,

just a quick note regarding the screens:
SL-C7x0 / 8x0 series uses same display units.
SL-C1x00 / 3x00 series uses same display units.

The shape of the PWBs between the xx0/xx00 series
is DIFFERENT. You can't use a SL-C760 display in a
SL-C1000 for example.

Please have this in mind, if you're looking for a
replacement screen.

General Discussion / Zaurus Out Of Production?
« on: January 07, 2008, 06:34:58 am »
Hi all,
Quote from: speculatrix
Trisoft, any news for the new year?
nope. Status is like it was.
No new models coming, new units available for
orders of 500+. Our actual status is that we still
have new units on stock and we're going to sell
some of our "warranty replacement pool" of
SL-C1000 in the next weeks (about 15 units).

We promised, to keep you updated...

When/if you buy in another batch, would you be able to tell us what the manufacturing dates on them are, so we can try and guess whether Sharp are still making batches of them?[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=160991\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
OK, latest shipment of SL-C1000s (arrived last Friday) was
produced in August 2007. So we're still getting fresh and warm
boxes

6000 - Tosa / Source For Ea-bl09 Battery
« on: August 21, 2007, 04:30:39 am »
Hi Little Goomba,
Quote
I wonder where we can get replacement batteries now?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=166483\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
we still have stock of EA-BL09. They're also pretty
fresh (OK, production date December 2006, but no
dusty 2004ers   ).
If you're interested, just send us a PM or mail to
zaurus(at)trisoft.de .

Hi Koen,
Quote
The openmoko people said they were going to do they own forum, so why fragment?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=165384\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

simply because most of the OM people are also Zaurus
users ?

Even if some start to create a new forum, most people
will check daily the OESF. So i would guess, that a OM
section here would be the right place.

Just my 2 (Euro-)cents

Sharp ROMs / Need Tosa Sharp Rom
« on: July 20, 2007, 06:18:23 am »
Hi Tward,

i had to check our download area, but look what i found:
http://www.trisoft.de/download/SL6000LNAND.zip

OK, it's not a flashable Rom, but a nice NAND-Backup
with the original English shipping state.

Hope, this helps.

5x00 Hardware / Power Pack Squeels When No Z Hooked In
« on: July 04, 2007, 05:17:13 am »
Hi Telemetric,

if you're talking about the EA-70(S) AC adapter, it's
absolutely normal.

These units start to humm a bit when the Zaurus is
charged or if no device is connected. Fortunately
we have such a noisy office, that we don't notice
this usually. But this behavior is reported from time
to time in all user forums since Sharp started selling
the Zaurus...

Hi Zauri,
Quote
Another issue I have noticed is that my Z doesn't show up in 'My Computer' as a mass storage device, anymore. Anyone able to fix this problem?
just go to "Settings" -> "PC-Link".
There you choose between "Storage" or "PC-Link" mode.
But don't forget to switch it back if you want to sync again

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Emergency
« on: May 15, 2007, 08:56:33 am »
Hi SiduS,

i'm sorry, but there's no perfect recipe for step 2.
What you definitely have to do is to start your Zaurus
into command line (the "D"+"B"+PwrOn thingy).
The following steps depend on how your harddisk is
looking. In worst case, you'll have to repartition it
with the fdisk command, format the partitions and
restore the contents of the first two partitions with
the files in the "SLC3200SYSPART.zip"...
This means a lot of manual mounting, copying...

The needed files and also the information how the
three partitions need to be (size / type) are in the
included textfile.

Try to work your way through this. If you run into
trouble, post it.

Fingers crossed
