maybe repartition hardrive with fdisk to one big partition?

Of Course, this will be better, and i want to make it, but...
if i repartition my hard drive, the sharp rom doesn't boot anymore if i reflash it

on the 3100 you have 3 partitions when shipped.
2 system partitions (ext3) for sharp rom restore and sharp rom booting (he just verify if the 2 system partitions are present at boot, if not, it's the HDD1 error and no boot anymore)
and an user partition (vfat) for datas
we are not responsible of this layout

so if fdisk the drive is mandatory, many users can't test the rom anymore, because of the too difficult rollback

I've a problem accessing the internal drive of my 3100
i mount manually my hda3 on /mnt/ide3
no problem with this, but if i suspend the Z or play with cf cards, when i want to access /mnt/ide3/Documents/Datas/ the disk stop responding
he spin, but no more, and the green led (access disk) stay always on
and the directory where he can't read anymore is different each time

it's really strange
i've reflashed by hazard, but no more luck, same problem

i'll try more to find an exact behavior for this error to reproduce this
has any C3100 owner the same problem?
maybe it's my disk who is not perfect

C3100 Feedback

-All partitions of the disk are not mounted at startup, like in the beta, just the first partition (even if the /mnt/ide1,2,3 exist)

-Internal drive is not present in the USB Disk Device list (hda3)

-Just a remark, but the /etc/fstab doesn't seems to be correct with this line, /dev/hda1   /mnt/cf   auto...
my cf is /dev/hdc (but the cf is working)

-xrandr doesn't seems to recognize xrandr -s 1

except this, the rom seems to be like the one on my 760, no more no less

for programs from the feed now, i know there are more problems

mplayer 1pre7 doesn't work on my C3100, he complains about a wrong CPU for compilation

other tests for programs will follow


ps is it possible to keep the rom updated like the old ones with ipkg update ipkg upgrade? (just a question before trying tonight )

the easyest way i think is to ask sash the files directly
or if you dont have time to wait, you have to mount the initrd.bin on a blockdevice as a jffs2 filesystem and copy the files from there

the manipulation to install pdaxrom on a C3000 hasn't changed since the new RC, so you have to tweak your system, no clean install for this machine at the moment (yes the install need the extra flash in the C3100)

...Fourth, the graphical package manager (qpkg) will only install to /, /mnt/user, and removable media.  If I want /mnt/hdd3 to be a destination, I have to remove /mnt/user and link it to /mnt/hdd3.

Installing aticore totally borks the SL-C3100.  X will not start after installing it.

to install an application on /mnt/hdd3 you have first to format it as ext3, so by default it is not possible, you have to tweak to add a destination to install in ipkg, it is not really difficult, search the forum

If you have a C1000/3000/3100 it is also normal that a driver for a hardware that is not present in the machine will break all the install

with the trick of Borealid
in the .xinitrc, add |SL-C3100 just after 3000 in the if
all keys are normal

and the Auto-rotation is working now

look at the post for betatesting C3100, the new rom is there for C1000

but caution for possible damages (there are some died 3100 (at least for now) in this test )

i think yes
i had 64mb free in my user space after install with a partitionning 64/64

the install was good (except the fix bootloader part of course )

second test
auto-rotation doesn't seems to work
some tweaks for the power
auto supend cannot be avoided with the screen blanker applet
same thing for screensaver

Nice, I've installed this rom without repartitionning too much
the only thing i see is the microdrive "problem"
it's the third partition to mount to access files on the internal drive by default, not the first
but in /etc/fstab i see no traces of an /dev/hdc1 as mounted by default
how is it mounted at startup? and at resume

second thing
i've no access to the fn key
edit : the fn key is mapped as the alt button

third thing
when unmount a cf card in the unmount applet the microdrive is unmounted also

EDIT : the CPU applet is always at 100% (not true, i've found a process that take 100% CPU)

there are my first tests on my C3100

it's not possible for the moment, but RC11 will have C3100 support
(i've tried porting but with not much success)

ce n'est pas possible pour le moment mais la RC11 aura le support du 3100, ca va venir, il faut juste etre un peu patient
(j'ai essaye, mais je me suis pas arrive a un resultat correct)

i just ask myself...
the person who can compile for example Open Office, and for this who take a month of work
to thanks this person you would like to pay the pdaxrom team? it's not very logic

i think if a dev take his time to compile your app, the money must come to him, and it is his choice to give this money to the pdaxrom team

and also if i put a bounty on an application, i want to pay the person who has make the work, and noone other, if i want to give money to the team i simply donate.

do not forget that compiling an application is not always so simple that type 3 commands, and if you make some bounty this work must be rewarded
