General Discussion / surrendering domain zaurus.org.uk - any takers?
« on: August 31, 2021, 05:59:04 pm »
I've had the domain a long time but I've not had a Zaurus for a long time (my last working one was stolen long ago), so I was thinking it's probably time to give up the domain, ideally by handing it over to someone else who will run a website on it and host the downloads I've stored there a long time.

I checked the web access logs and the only access has been search engine bots.

I just don't want the domain to fall into the hands of advertising spam services.

There's four weeks left before it needs renewing. If you want it, create a login on Godaddy and I will get them to transfer it you your account.

General Discussion / pocketables forum came back
« on: October 27, 2018, 05:14:53 pm »
there are a few of us who also hung out at the pocketables forum because we also owned UMPCs (I had a Fujitsu U820 / U2010)..

after a few years of crappy ownership and neglect of the pocketables "brand" by crowdgather, pocketables is now in the hands of Paul King who's rebuilding it, and now he's got the forums back online.

Gemini PDA - General Discussion / RiscOS on Gemini?
« on: October 26, 2018, 02:08:02 pm »
Now that RiscOS is open source, I wonder if anyone will try building it for the Gemini?

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/10/23/ri...os_open_source/

I'm not sure that anyone would use it as their primary OS, and you might not get many people trying it, but it's an interesting thing.

Gemini PDA - Android / Using Three UK SIM and app in Android - "no SIM"
« on: September 19, 2018, 03:27:26 am »
I have a free SIM from Three in the UK, it gives me 200MB a month free, which is just enough for my Gemini as it's my secondary device.

https://www.three.co.uk/Free_SIM_MBB/Order

Unfortunately the Three app you use to monitor the account doesn't work, says there's no SIM in the phone. This happens whether or not I disable the eSIM.

Is anyone else using Three and got their app to work?

Thanks
