Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Kdepimpi On Netwalker?
« on: January 18, 2010, 11:35:15 am »
Did anyone manage to compile the KDEPimpi-Sources from Sourceforge? I loved to work with KAPI and KOPI on my old Zaurus, which were so much better than KOrganizer and KAddressbook, but unfortunately the ipks cannot be transferred to armel code debs directly. The sources are available at sourceforge but I know far too less about Qtopia to compile it.

Sharp PC-Z1 NetWalker / Some Issues With Flash And Ppp...
« on: January 16, 2010, 09:04:36 am »
Got my device  yesterday and it runs pretty well so far in german localisation. Two issues: 1. Can't get flash-lite to work properly. I installed everything according to plan but I can only get audio, video is black. Found the plugins in /usr/lib/... but no go. 2. Can't get PPP-EDGE-connection to work. As wvdial is obviously corrupted in armel, I managed to build up EDGE on the phone via chapscripts. The EDGE connection is stable and shows up on the phone but without any traffic and no connection to internet. I think there may be some DNS problem, but I made my contributions to resolv.conf...Any hints?

Debian / I Want It Compiled !
« on: September 24, 2008, 05:53:29 am »
Thanks to yonggun for compiling the wunderful kdepimpi package, which is the best organizer on Zaurus (and other worlds)! Unfortunately for alarming out of suspend the internal alarm option of kdepimpi doesn't work. It has to be cancelled and there has to be an external package installed, which was korganizer-alarm (ko/pi alarm applet) in pdaxrom. I would like to have that recompiled. Or is there another way to use the alarm option in debian?

Hi.

compiling on my Z terminated with lots of errors. Do you have a compiled version of passkey-agent?

Try this link:
http://www.zaurus.ru/board/download.php?id=20728

Thanks for the executable! Tried your way but without success  . Now I think it's a problem with device rfcomm0. I did not have it after installing BT, so I created it (mknod rfcomm0 c 216 0) Maybe that's wrong.
Do you know which packages are essential for BT dialup? I could reinstall them to get rfcomm0 automatically.

i use the following way to start it up in andromeda

/etc/init.d/dbus start
start-stop-daemon -S -b -x /bin/passkey-agent -- --default 1
hciconfig hci0 up piscan class 0x520104
rfcomm release rfcomm0
rfcomm bind rfcomm0
pon provider

Here 1 - my pin, passkey-agent you can find there http://www.zedd.nl/?p=8. This was the crucial moment to make it work.

It works fine for my nokia.

Hi nickk9,
compiling on my Z terminated with lots of errors. Do you have a compiled version of passkey-agent?
Thanks.

Debian / Bluetooth Ppp-dialup Pairing Problems
« on: September 09, 2008, 09:05:49 am »
I use Debian-Andromeda on a 3200. My Belkin-BT-Card is recognized and works with OBEX or PAN. Rfcomm0 is specified, HCI is working and I have a correct givepin and pin and connect script for my samsung phone, which  worked well with pdaxrom.
Zaurus is recognized on the phone, but I get "pairing not possible". All MACs are ok, my class in hcid.conf is 0x100110. I fiddled with that but it had no influence at all. All other entries in hcid.conf are as usual. I think the Z  does'nt show any services to the peer (don't know why?), but it should be able to pair anyhow. Anyone solved this?

Debian / Customized New Rootfs
« on: September 07, 2008, 07:41:05 am »
Works really nice and much faster than my old pdaxrom! Got wifi working with my d-link-card and installed bluetooth (still testing). Only one small issue I noticed: date&time seems to be broken. Has to be done by commandline.
My only problem: (I'm not quite familiar with icewm, I used rox-session with pdaxrom): How can I bring icons on the desktop? Any hint?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13 Usage
« on: March 27, 2008, 12:26:27 pm »
Hi,
haven't been here for some time...so: I'm using pdaxii13(v1) full with additional programs on my C3200, which ist the best system I ever had on my Z (tried them all...).  I'm using my Z nearly every day with ko/pi, ka/pi, firefox, sylpheed, FB-Reader.... It's (relatively) stable, bluetooth and wifi work fine, I can watch movies from the harddisc with mplayer when I'm travelling...Thanks for the great work!

That was exactly what I was looking for. The rccomm.conf file wasn't correct. It can now establish a connection and begins the ppp connection. It gets to the point where it receives the auth method of CHAP MD5 And then receives the request for name = "" a response of name = "1234567890@1x.telusmobility.com" (replace 123....90 with my actual phone number) and then it receives CHAP authentication failed

It never gets to the point where it asks for the password.

I talked to telus support and they don't have the ability to view the logs to see if my username is being sent correctly. But I verified with them what it should be and its what PPP dialer says is being sent.

I read a few other posts about how the PPP Dialer double quotes the password but nothing about the username.  The username is being sent in double quotes as shown above. But it looks like the request is asking for it to be in doublequotes.

In my /etc/ppp/peers/default (which is the one its using) it has what I can tell is correct:

/dev/rfcomm0
115200
connect 'usr/sbin/chat -s -v ABORT "NO CARRIER" ABORT "NODIALTONE" ABORT "BUSY" " "ATZ" OK ATDT#777 CONNECT'
crtscts
noipdefault
modem
user "1234567890@1x.telusmobility.com"
usepeerdns
defaultroute
connect-delay 60000
remotename default

i tried removing the "" around the user value as well.

I'm not sure if the remotename is correct.. but I don't even know what it should be. Telus support isn't very uesfull for validating or verifying anything as they seem to lack any ability to see what is happening. It would be very aparent im sure if they could just see what username was being submitted.

In my /etc/ppp/chap-secrets file it has:

1234567890@1x.telusmobility.com default "<password>"

I don't knwo if that default shoudl be there im sure its related to why its in the rfcomm.conf file.

Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Maybe there is an error in the connect-line with the "" or slashes:
Here is my version of your /default: /etc/ppp/peers/BT-Nokia (working with GPRS vodafone)

/dev/rfcomm0
115200
connect '/usr/sbin/chat -s -v -t 60 ABORT "NO CARRIER" ABORT "NO DIALTONE" ABORT "BUSY" "" "AT+cgdcont=1,\\\"IP\\\",\\\"web.vodafone.de\\\"" OK "ATDT*99#" CONNECT'
crtscts
noipdefault
modem
user "d2"
defaultroute
connect-delay 20000
remotename BT-Nokia

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13v2
« on: December 06, 2007, 07:23:27 am »
After upgrading openbox in pdaxii13 v2 to 3.4.4-2 the header lines with the titles of the displayed windows are extremely small and so is the title text font and the action icons. This isn't related to the choosen theme or to .../themes/<choosen theme>/gtk/gtkrc. I tried to edit /usr/share/themes/<choosen theme>/openbox-3/themerc but with no success. The old openbox version didn't show this issue. Any hints?
