C1000/3x00 General discussions / Zaurus Oscilloscope
« on: August 28, 2007, 12:43:06 pm »
Just to add, I'm in support of this project and would be interested it.  I guess I'll also have to stop buying that extra coffee/day to save up for the hardware.

User Request for Applications / Arduino On The Z
« on: August 09, 2007, 03:50:01 pm »
Has anyone tried compiling the Arduino IDE for the Zaurus (specifically the CX000 series) for QT?  I might give it a try as I would prefer to do the programming/testing on the road for a couple of projects I have in mind.

Software / Abiword...

Even worse - on Cacko, downloaded from Meanie's site the following two IPKs (ie. from http://zaurus.daemons.gr/menaie/feed/)

abiword_2.0.0_armv5tel.ipk
libglade_2.0.1-1_armv5tel.ipk

I think those are for pdaxQTrom or whatever that is called, you have to install the pdaxQT base files and basically have pdaxrom run under QT to get abiword to work.  Or at least that's why I think  you are having problems with it not starting.

Software / Mplayer Codecs

I think I figured it out, they are compiled into Mplayer, guess I'm gonna have to route around for source and try to roll my own

Software / Mplayer Codecs
« on: July 31, 2007, 04:25:26 pm »
Does anyone know where the codecs.conf or the codecs are stored for mplayer-bvdd-iwmmxt are stored on the zaurus after installation?  Is the codecs.conf 'hardcoded' into the mplayer binary or is the file somewhere, not in the usual spots?

Thanks

I haven't been able to get the Linksys USB200M working in Cacko 1.23 Lite or in pdaxi13 on my 3100.  The kernel will not recognize it even witht he proper modules installed.

User Request for Applications / Driver For Zd1211b Usb Wifi Adaptor

Would someone please compile this driver for OZ 3.5.4.1?  I tried using the zd1211.ipk in the feed but it's a no go with my adaptor.

http://atheros.com/RD/downloads/download_ZD1211B.htm

After looking at the driver doc I believe they use the same source the only difference being:
make ZD1211REV_B=0 (0 for ZD1211, 1 for ZD1211B)

Any assistance is appreciated
J.T.

Would the 1211b driver for the 1215 wifi stick?  If it does any way you can post the compiled driver for the latest cacko.

This would be awesome.

I've looked around and apparently the 1211b driver works for the 1215 device, but I've compiled lud's driver on my 3100 in Cacko and haven't been able to get it recognize the Gigafast WF748-CUI usb wifi I have which has the ZyDas 1215 chipset.

Well I tried your first part Chero, where I edit the startxfce4 script and that gave me a different error along the lines that I was missing libxfce4mcs-client.so.3

So I reformated my microdrive, and reinstalled pdaxrom after d/l all your ipkls from your experimental feed and tried them and everything worked right off the bat.
Thanks.

sounds like some things were not installed to "/', xfce doesn't like this, libs seem to get broken that way.

Chero.

Yeah I was trying to install xfce to a microdrive partition, but it's starting up without a problem now.

I do have another question/problem, I have panelmenu and menu-pdx installed but whenever I tap on the "start" (for lack of better words) button on my panel, nothing happens.  Where is your default menu.xml file stored so I can see if I can specify it.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=132393\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

If you are using the experimental (4.3.90.1) packages, it won't work. It's likely you broke the default-menu by installing the "panel-menu-plugin". The panel has been completely recoded for the 4.4 release and the plugins have to be updated as well. I compiled the ones I could find (they are also in the experimental dir)

Try this : from a terminal window do
Code: [Select]
# xfdesktop -menu
That should show a menu on the screen somewhere. Any errors ?

If you don't get a menu, try reinstalling xfdesktop.

NOTE : don't edit the text-string from the default-menu-plugin, you can choose to show or hide it, but you shouldn't change it (it does strange things then - it's a known (old) xfce related bug).

The menu isn't really stored. It's build using .desktop files and temp. stored in your home-dir (~/.cache/xfce4/desktop/menu...........)

The menu of the plugin you mention (but is likely unusable with the 4.3.90.1 packages) is stored in ~/.config (I guess).

Reinstalling xfdesktop and libexo seemed to do the trick.

I thought calling the mouse a rat might get someone going  I'm known to be a poop disturber at times

in my case, usgin experimental packages, I get a white screen, and if I leave by ctrl-alt-backspace terminal appear in vertical mode.
Any hint chero? I cannot get xfce4 up anymore

did you replace the xinitrc.xfce4 with the one in Chero's feed?  it sounds like xfce4 is starting up, the startup has a white background with a rat in the middle that fades in and out.
