6000 - Tosa / Keyboards?
« on: February 21, 2005, 02:52:13 pm »
Hi,

Have been following these posts; broke down and bought the Belkin folding keyboard.  It's pretty cool.  However, I'm interested in getting some of the basic SL-6000 control keys mapped:
- dropdown menu key
- cancel key
- OK key

Is there a reference document that would show me the hex mappings used for these keys on the built-in SL-6000 keyboard?

Thanks,
Doug

Hi there,

I am using a MiniSync cable from Boxwave.  They're not too expensive and you can find them here:

Boxwave

I use it for file transfer, sync and VNC.  They delivered in about 4 days to Canada.

Did you get the original keyboard or the newer version (CT4700)?

6000 - Tosa / VoIP On the 6000

Hi,

Anyone have trouble getting thir audio device to work with Kphone/Pi?  I'm on a SL-6000 and have selected /dev/dsp  as my audio device in ReadWrite mode.  My MP3's and alarms already play fine through the built-in speaker, so that's not the problem.  The kPhone/Pi software *does* report "dialing" and "connection"

6000 - Tosa / Software for the SL-6000

Hi,

I used to love using qconsole on my SL-5500 with it's tabbed sessions and readible fonts.  Does anyone know of a version compiled for use with the SL-6000's higher resolution screen?

Thanks,
Doug

This seems like quite an odyssey.  Do we need a how-to for this?  How does one go about adding a How-To to the ZUG?

6000 - Tosa / Conversion From Sl-5500

Unfortunately none of these methods worked.

I manually synched the 5500 with the 6000 using the IR port, one by one.  It took over and hour but I got it done.  No looking back now.  So much for backwards compatibility though!

6000 - Tosa / Who has a 6000?
« on: December 28, 2004, 10:23:01 am »
Hi all,

Got mine two weeks ago and I can't believe how awesome this thing is.  It's so much more than the SL-5500 I had before.  I'm from Canada so took advantage of a long business trip to have it shipped to the US office.

So far my only peeves are finding a version of Keypebble VNC to download and finding a USB cable for on-the-road syncing.

As far as a case, I'm going to find one of those zippered binder style portfolios.  Let's face it, you always need a pad of paper with you.  I've seem some from Franklin Covey that now have a "Universal PDA holder".  No, you don't need velcro, and it looks like you could extend the keyboard while the PDA is clipped.  Will report back.

Doug

6000 - Tosa / "record" Key
« on: December 20, 2004, 02:32:56 pm »
Hi there,

Does your record key work?  I've tried enabling it using both the "Application Key" and "Voice Recorder" applications.  Is there anything else you need to do?  Pressing the key should just start "Voice Recorder" and put it in record mode right?

Thanks,
Doug

Hi macz,

If I only want to copy the address book entries from the old Zaurus, could I copy just these two files:
SLADRS.BOX
SLADRS.IDX

Thanks,

6000 - Tosa / Conversion From Sl-5500

For some reason I'm getting:

"This version of Qtopia Desktop does not match the version on your Zaurus".  I've tried re-installing Qtopia Desktop with the same result.  The version of this software is Qtopia Desktop v1.5.5 built April 8, 2003.

Any thoughts?

6000 - Tosa / Conversion From Sl-5500
« on: December 07, 2004, 11:41:09 am »
Hi there,

Just ordered the SL-6000 and am currently a SL-5500 owner.  Can someone direct me to a conversion procedure, allowing me to keep my SL-5500 address book and calendar data?

Would I just install the Zaurus Desktop and save/restore using it?

Thanks,
Doug
