France / Où avez vous trouvé le votre Zaurus ?

J'ai acheté mon Z1000 via geekstuff4u.com, après un interrogatoire serré via mail, j'ai toujours eu des réponses et je suis content du résultat. Paiement via Paypal.

Le Z a été livré aux US, j'étais en mission las-bas lors de la commande =>pas de frais de douane.

J'ai ensuite acheté un transfo universel, une carte Wifi et une carte SD 1Go aux US (Transfo  et carte sur Amazon je crois), Câble Usb host "Iriver".

Très content des services avant-vente de geekstuff4u.com, en français en plus !.

J'ai payé le Z en septembre 2005 quelquechose comme 490/500 USD je crois (donc autour de 420EUR).


Remarque : J'ai acheté mon Z avec un petit compromis Service/Cout (j'ai eu peur de Pricejapan :-) mais je dois avouer que le travail de trisoft.de m'a beaucoup aidé au début : la doc traduite et les NAND backup dispo sont très utiles, merçi à eux pour leur support. Les tarifs m'ont paru à l'époque un peu trop haut / autres importateurs

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Gp2x Psone Emulator Running Realy Fast

I'm very exited by this emu !.

I tried to run the emu with a sharp rom and xqt jumbo package from meanie following xdivider info.
It works !, well not so good but it works.
I have only tried with a FF VII iso PAL version. The emu 006 version crash when trying to show the first movie (just after i selected "new game").
NOTE : it seems that the zpsx006 is the last one with the hires binary. the last version are only lowres and does not work in console mode with the sharp rom (white screen), the latest version works with X/QT but it is very slow.

So, here is a little summary to run zpsx with sharp rom. i installed :
- xqt-gtk-jumbopack_0.4.3-0.7.1_arm.ipk and xqt-debian-scripts_0.6.1_arm.ipk to be able to run Xqt
- tslib_14042005_armv5tel.ipk from pdaxrom feed (no beta) - install with ipkg ok
- libstdc__2.10_glibc2.2_2.95.4_15_arm.ipk from xdivider (see previous post) unpack and copy to lib dir(/home/QtPalmtop/lib)
- sdl_1.2.9_armv5tel.ipk from pdaxrom (beta feed) unpack and copy lib in a separate directory than the official sdl lib (for sharp rom). you will need to update LD_LIBRARY_PATH to use this lib before running zpsx.
- and obviously zpsx. unzip zpsx somewhere, copy the included libbz2.so.1.0 the the lib directory (/home/QtPalmtop/lib)
if needed run ldconfig (as root)

then, i have created with pocketiso 2.0 a compressed image of the original bin cdrom image.
Copy the img.Z file and the img.Z.table to the same dir as the install dir.

Within X/QT : run as root.

Hi, any news about a way to replace hostapd by wlan-ng on cakco 1.23 ?

I just reinstalled the cacko and updated the firmware to  
PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.1.1
STAID: id=0x001f v1.8.4 (station firmware)
like seb.
It is not better, even worst, now if i suspend the Zaurus, it reboots (only qtopia ??).

PS : an other little script to reinit the card :

PS : I tried a belkin BT card and it works quite well with cacko 1.23 :-). But same issue than with the WCF12 : need to extract and reinsert the card to reconnect after a first connection ...

Hi, just to say that i had the same issue.
i had the same trouble with Cacko 1.23 full and a WCF12 wifi CF Card. The  thing to do after each connection was to run a script with something like "sidmoraes" tips but with /eject and /insert..
An other thing was the received level that was always full.
I'm back with the sharp rom now, mainly because of this.
I' have the X/QT from meanie installed too. I'll try to find the little script that allow you to do not remove and insert the card for each new connection.

I didn't know that i can upgrade the firmware.. I found here a description about how to upgrage the firmware using "prism2_srec". is it suppose to work on the Z ??

It is finally working !!!

I still don't know witch one are the latest , but it works with bluez-zaurus_2.12_2.4.20_alpha4_arm.ipk and the OESF Howto Here.

I tried several config, have some very strange stuff (Freeze, even a "ghost" that continuously hit the keyboard sometimes, so several reboot) each time i remove the USB BT dongle or while i'm tryinfg to configure the BT connections... But the GPRS connection is working...

First the phone and the Z was able to pair, but the connection stop working after few seconds. I thought that it was link to the bluez drivers, but it was just a wrong Init string

but i use the sharp rom, and would like to know if the one above is the latest for the sharp rom and the 2.4.20 kernel (C1000)?

it seems so, as i was not able to find another. (the one on the zug/cako feed is 2.0 something)

PS: I tired your rom but my Linksys WF12 wifi card had some strange behaviours (difficulties to connect, need to unplug / plug between each connections), so i went back to the sharp rom as i use the wifi connection very often...

zroadmap_1.0.1-1_arm.ipk seems to work, but it doesn't recognise the maps ... the maps available on the web site seems to work only with 1.0.8 and above... So where are the "old" map?
I found a zroadmap_1.0.8-r1_arm.ipk on the net, but it is not for the sharp rom... ipkg don't wnat to install it. ??

I don't know if zroadmap is what i need, but it seems to. i 'm trying to have a basic MapInfo equivalent. Any other soft could do that on the Z?

Hi meanie, i was looking at the forum about this xmodmaprc and found this topic, can i borrow you a bit ?. I have a C1000 and just installed the xqt cramfs jumbo and apps. But there is a very strange thing about the keyboard in XQT : when I hit shift+[/-,] to use the comma, the keyboard swith to a different mode, and i found that hitting the CTRL key bring back the keyboard.

For exemple, after hitting shift+comma under xterm :
[R] show (reverse-i-search):

• : return

[P] : list the last command line entry
etc,etc..
I tried with your xmodmaprc, nothing change..

I'm using the latest cacko rom (1.23)

?? i do not have this strange stuff with the sharp rom, do you think it could come from the cacko rom ?
