If I remember correctly, in call volume can be adjusted with the screen shut as follows:

When in call, swipe in from the left on the external display
A volume scale should appear, drag it up & down as necessary

sorry, no option for Auto-rotate in the location you've specified.

There is:
Dwell timing
Power button ends call
Touch & hold delay
Vibration

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Camera

With my Gemini I was trying (but failed) to install the Moments Pro camera app. It requires Camera API2.

I put it on my Cosmo pretty quickly and it works well. Okay, i'm still learning, but it does seem to allow me to tweak various settings pretty well, although i've not found anything about resolution yet. Still working on it

If it truly is a 6MP sensor i'll be happy with that, i'd rather it worked at a decent quality all the time rather than stretched itself & reduced quality in the end.

For proper photos i'll carry my Canon 80D when I need it.

Since I'm feeling adventurous (and don't want to lose my device for weeks), I asked to be shipped a frame, and will post back here with the results.

Very interested to see how you get on, will you be able to document your activities with photos as well please? I'm sure we could all benefit from your experience.

My left-hand hinge is now also broken in exactly this way, and the result is some pretty concerning flexion whenever I open the screen. I am very worried the hinge will fail soon. Has anyone had any luck repairing this?

Any idea whether Planet Computers would be willing to ship me a replacement plastic case part?

I too would be interested to know if it's possible. My replacement Gemini (now only a couple of months old) has had the left hand hinge break. I've not reported it to them as I'm waiting on my Cosmo to arrive first, at which point I was hoping to do a return/repair while still having a usable device.

I don't remember my original Gemini being as awkward on the hinge, and I do try to behave when opening/closing it.

Please excuse the silly question, I appreciate seeing your efforts at how the Gemini looks mounted in the mount.

But has anyone tried mounting it by the screen rather than the keyboard to test for stability?

Just thinking out loud, i'm sure there are other reasons why it's not a good idea, i'm just curious..

If it helps, i've had extremely good response from Planet regards a hardware issue. My microphones stopped working so no one could hear me properly. After a brief discussion over email with them they arranged to examine & repair it. I had a fully working device back in about a week all in all.

I know there's the hassle of getting things setup again how you like it, but I was very happy with their response & assistance.

I'm experiencing the same problem, but only when i'm active with the device (app launching seems the most likely time).

However it can happen at any battery charge level, i'm sure the first time was when the battery was ~80%

Can you post how you did the reflash back to 7.1 ? With any links etc?
I've been having no luck at all trying to flash mine back to 7.1 from 8.1. Does not seem to want to work on a windows machine or Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

I had to wipe my device completely as part of flashing back to 7.1. This wasn't a problem for me due to the issues I was having.

mibry's link to the v7 partition tool is correct, although I already had the files from a previous flash exercise.

Gemini arrived at Planet yesterday, they were able to replicate the issue & found one microphone completely unresponsive. Already it's been resolved & there's a parcel on it's way back to me.

I am really impressed with Planet's support service here, all this was done in less than a week!

Very happy with their response & assistance with this matter, should've done it ages ago.

Tried flashing again & can't get it past 7.1.1

Also managed to flash Sailfish with another version of Android, but hasn't solved the microphone issues.

Support request has now been logged.
