@NCI What do you try to do? Elaborate a bit more. As far as I know CDS is not implemented in Gemini.

Gemini PDA - Android / Updating firmware for root/recovery users that keeps data?

I did no update to my unit yet, but from my other phones I updated I learned that most updates don't need a reinstallation of software/data. As long as the OS number and the memory management do not change there is no need to wipe and reinstall any data. If nothing goes wrong TWRP, root, Xposed and the data will stay intact. Be pepared that the reboot after flashing takes a very long time because any program will be new "initialized".

If the SD card does not work reformat it to FAT32 and it will work. (On Windows use the free "MiniTool Partition Wizard")

Maybe someone is interested: "MTK engineering mode" can be downloaded from Google Play (or other sources). This Application allows you to run Advanced Setup from Engineering Mode Menu of MTK phones, also called SERVICE MODE. It will work only on MediaTek based Phones. Use the secret menu carefully. If you don't know what you are doing... don't do it!!

Best way is to copy any important data to SD card, this way nothing is lost. Because you are rooted Titanium Backup is a perfect solution too (be sure to set Titanium to store to SD card)
Regarding flashing: If you just use the "download" option in Flash Tool usually nothing will be deleted. Anyway a good copy is useful, if anything goes wrong
