User Request for Applications / Quetoo
« on: July 31, 2007, 06:15:23 pm »
Yes, you need q2 data file to play. Shareware data is floating on the Internet, but it is not so easy fo find by qick googling.
I tried compiled quetoo on pdaXii3, but getting "X11 is not confirured for OpenGL" error. I have also installed mesa3d, glxgears demo is working fine.
That is really pitty, q2 is almost playable with standard q2 engine.

User Request for Applications / Quetoo

Hello, I found interesting link:
http://jdolan.dyndns.org/trac/wiki/Quetoo

Quetoo is a Quake2-compatible game engine for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. It's focus is simplicity, security, stability, and speed. It contains critical security updates for both clients and servers, bandwidth saving network protocol enhancements, an improved console, and some major speed increases. Quetoo is up to 140% faster than stock Quake2.
....

It runs incredibly well on nokia N800:

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Moving Directories To Hdd
« on: April 07, 2007, 11:54:38 am »
Hello, I am playing with amazing pdaxii3 and I have a little problem.
I want to move /home/root to microdrive.
I moved /home/root to /extra/home/root and added line to fstab:
/extra/home/root /home/root auto bind
Directory seems to mount fine, but instead openbox I am greeted by bare X desktop with couple of xterms.
Did anybody tried to similar thing? I would like to move few directories to hdd (var, home etc.)
Thanks

Merli compiled Fuse for pdaXrom, see:
https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18284&hl=
He didn't complain about speed, but X is a different world, I guess.

There is hope that Fuse can be compiled for Sharp/Cacko as it supports SDL. We just need good soul to try that.

Hello, inability to connect ad-hoc is software issue (option not exist in dialogue)? Can it be avoided by using Cacko or by connecting from terminal?
Thanks.

General Discussion / Price Drops

Well, two biggest German dealers are lowering prices almost each week a bit. I wonder if zaurus will be discontinued or just new model is coming (if yes, it will probably have wi-fi built in, Trisoft and Pluster are out of stock for wlan CF:)

Software / Looking For A Full Speed Spectrum Emulator

If you manage to compile that one, maybe you can try to compile Fuse - the Free Unix Spectrum Emulator (http://fuse-emulator.sourceforge.net). Fuse supports SDL and is ported to pocket pc under name PocketClive and working great even on older devices.
