IRC/Matrix/Telegram/Discord chat rooms for the Astro
« on: August 03, 2020, 06:11:59 am »
Here's a list of all the Astrodevoted chat rooms. Please let me know if there's any other chat room not listed here!
I'm the admin of the Matrix channel, and one of the admins of the IRC one, so if you need any help, feel free to ask me.
The Telegram, Matrix and IRC channels are bridged (thanks to the work of Sami Olmari), so all the messages are shared between the three channels.

Telegram: All the channels here are invite-only, or protected via CAPTCHAs, as a measure against spambots. The invite/channel links are inside a spoiler tag to hide it from unregistered users and spambots. Web interface: https://web.telegram.org
Astro & Cosmo & Gemini PDA invite link:

LineageOS ports for Planet devices link:

I have added two new channels on Telegram, for developers of the LineageOS and postmarketOS ports.

The links are to a 'protected channel', where you have to do 3 easy emoji CAPTCHAs, then the bot allows you to enter the group.

Please note that the efforts are voluntary, not paid or full-time, and not representative of Planet. A Code of Conduct will be available soon, so generally, politeness and respect are what's expected in these groups.

Note: if the captcha doesn't show up when clicking "Start", wait for a while or try later, sometimes it takes a while to start. Also, note that if you have a CalsiBot chat already open, you'll need to either delete it or send the "/cancel" command before you can ask to join another channel protected with CalsiBot.

Thanks to shymega for the heads-up and for all the efforts involved in these projects!

If you need any help regarding these new Telegram channels, feel free to PM shymega here (his nick is "Dom (shymega)") or tagging him in the Discord/Telegram Astro/Cosmo/Gemini group, as he's not accepting PM's on Telegram or Discord.

The Telegram links here are broken. I added all this info to the wiki and a few more links, with corrected Telegram ones: https://github.com/shymega/planet-devices/wiki/Community-and-Resources

Thanks for the heads up, I have updated the links in the post here and in the Gemini/Cosmo subforums with the links posted in the wiki. My only concern is that the links on the wiki might be now exposed to spambots harvesting for Telegram invite links. That's why I'm posting them in a spoiler tag, which is hidden to not registered users. I wonder if a similar links protection can be added on the wiki, too.
