keyboard short cut to force rotate
« on: September 10, 2023, 10:44:43 am »
A lot of apps seem to reluctant to rotate when opening the keyboard. Other than going via the App Bar menu, is there a more keyboard shortcut way of rotating the display to portrait? Using the Smart Button also feels awkward once I've opened the keyboard.

When you physically rotate the device, there is a little black circle with a rotation icon that appears in the bottom-left corner of the (portrait) screen. Tapping on this briefly engages automatic rotation to set the rotation to whichever orientation the device is in. I find this is the most reliable way of rotating the screen. There is a keyboard shortcut (Fn + Shift + R), but it doesn't always work properly - see: https://github.com/shymega/planet-devices/issues/54

Thanks, good tip, using the transient rotation icon, works well. Indeed, Fn+Shift + R doesn't work.

Another way that I use is the programmable button below the volume buttons, I have this set as once press rotates the screen.
