Guitar/Banjo/Mandolin/Bass Guitar, etc. Tuner
« on: April 20, 2004, 10:27:32 pm »
Hi all,

I\'ve had a real need for either the Powerchord or the QMusician tuners, but couldn\'t find Powerchord and QMusician isn\'t installing/working right on my 5500.

Both of their homepages have gone bye-bye, and I couldn\'t find a current project in sourceforge I could possibly use.

I\'d like to have assisted the folks who already have developed apps to help them make them more user friendly where you could select an instrument, plug it into your Zaurus or hook up a mic to your zaurus and have it tuned, but alas...(I did find the source code for gString for GTK which I might try and port/change and create my own.)

I went out and bought a hardware tuner for my instruments for only $15.  I\'d still like to get one on my Zaurus though.

Any input from developers or musicians on this topic?

Thanks,
By your command...

Powerchord is in the Opie cvs. It just needs someone finishing the FFT for the tuner.

I tried emailing the author about adding banjo, but he didn't get the mail or didn't feel like replying.  Probrably the former.

The original author is no longer active in the Zaurus community. May opie-tonleiter be what you're looking for? It's unfortunately also not complete yet, but could be enhanced. Ideally, I'd like to see someone merging PowerChord and opie-tonleiter.
