AAC, MP3 Player

Are there any audio players available that will play aac and mp3 files?  AAC is the apple encoding format.  I have tons of music on iTunes that I would like to transfer to an sd card and play on my zaurus.  I hate carrying the zaurus and the ipod to work.  I'd much rather just carry the zaurus and listen to music from it on my way to work.

Maybe not quite as convenient, but maybe you haven't noticed that itunes will readily export all/some of your existing music to mp3 at whatever quality you choose. I've just done this with a chunk of our collection. Doesn't work for stuff you bought via itunes (.m4a I think).

It's not free, but tkcPlayer from TheKompany.com is supposed to play non-DRM enabled AAC files.  This means you should be able to play music ripped from within iTunes to AAC (m4a), but not music purchased through the iTunes Music Store.  More info at: theKompany.com

You can play aac in video container like matroska or mp4 with mplayer. It plays it as a video file with sound but "without video stream". Mplayer supports playlist

On that note -- using VLC for audio only on the Zaurus definitely is overkill and, at least currently, not the best solution, since it tries to keep 'sync' even without video, which can result in it trying to resample and the like even though it's not at all necessary.

For audio only, I have taken to use the [a href=\"http://fondriest.frederic.free.fr/realisations/lamip/]Linux Audio Multiple Interface Player[/url], which I already discussed here in the forum in this thread.
