C3000 Power Problem Software? Hardware?
« on: April 27, 2005, 06:39:26 pm »
Every once in a while I turn on my C3000 and within about 10 to 15 seconds, it automatically goes into suspend again (screen goes blank).

Has anyone ever seen this?

It happens when I have CF plugged in and when no CF or SD plugged in.

It seems to happen randomly, but enough to concern me.

BTW, once I press ON again, it seem to function okay and not suspend unintentionally again.

Please help!!!  I'd hte to think I need to send this to Sharp/Japan.

Yes, I've had that happen from time to time, too, on my C3000. Couldn't decide whether it was me pressing the power button twice, or something else, as the power button is (IMHO) not very good (i.e. you often don't feel it 'click' when depressed)...

Maybe I'm giving the Sharp guys too much credit, but since mine doesn't turn off if I tap the screen or press a key, I assumed that it was purposefully done to prevent unknowingly powering on and killing your battery.

It defiantely acts like the power button was pressed twice, becuase if I do that, it acts the exact same way, with the same sort of delay and then close.  I also have noticed that it rarely happens twice in a row.....liek the 3000 needs to be suspended for a few minutes and even then it is intermittant.

I hope the ROM guys can make this a bit more consistant.  But I gotta say, I do LOVE the "suspend on close" feature.
