Just bought a C1000 from
www.chaseandcompany.co.uk and its DOA, doesn't power up, nothing happens when I plug in the mains adapter, nothing, its a brick. (and a bloomin expensive one at that).
UPDATE: I now have a replacement, see below.
05-05-05 Spoke to Jeb on their live support, he couldnt bring up my payment information so was unable to verify I had actually bought anything, emailed, awaiting reply.
06-05-05 Email recieved, found my payment information. Asking to see if I had inserted the battery correctly (well, they have to ask!) and offering a return to sharp for warrenty service.
06-05-05 Email from Jeb enquiring about the possiblity of shipping damage, said there was a slight dink on one of the zaurus box corners, nothing significant.
06-05-05 Instructed to return the Zaurus & battery only to Japan as a warrenty return. (sent by fedex)
09-05-05 Spotted my package was being held by fedex for not having the correct internetional paperwork! I did include a commercial invoice with the fedex packing details but who knows.... After a few unhelpfull calls to fedex customer support (hey, at least they answer the phone). I faxed a replacement invoice and crossed my fingers.
11-05-05 Package recieved in Japan.
12-05-05 Email from Jeb, informing me my replacement has been shipped!
16-05-05 Replacement C1000 (same serial number as one returned)
(All dates are DD-MM-YY)
Well, in just
11 Days from recieving a fancy paperweight to getting a replacement C1000 I don't honestly think
www.chaseandcompany.co.uk could have done any better, and I would have no qualms about dealing with them again in the future, in fact, they will be my first port of call for anything else I want importing.
