Sharp Boot Loader Question
« on: July 18, 2005, 12:42:30 pm »
This is probably a really silly question, but here goes:

I have this brand new SL-C3000...  (Don't ask...)  I'm interested in trying something a little more advanced than just flashing what-ever fork of the Qtopia/Oz family is available at the moment.  I've seen blurbs about people managing to squeeze a lot of more heavy-weight OS's onto their Z's (Debian springs to mind.).  How is this supported in the Boot Loader.  Ie. Are the hooks there for ANYTHING to be booted off the Z's hard-disk, or am I restricted to something that somehow mimics the original Qtopia installation?

Thanks in advance, fellas...

I guess you haven't seen OpenZaurus/GPE yet, right?

Anyway, the clue here is to use pivot_root. There's no support from the boot loader.
