New Sl5600 User

Greetings,

recently I've bought a poodle, os SL-5600 Zaurus pda. I think that it can be very usefull, expecially for a linux user.
Actually I'm testing all the roms available, to have a clear idea about this device.

I've looked around on this forum for a while and then I've signed in. It seems to be full of interesting informations!

Btw, I've noticed a strange problem on my poodle with OZ 3.5.3.
I get always the  cpu at 100% I'm not yet unable to understain why, but seems to be because of kapm-idled. Before login on gpe, it ask at least 50% of my cpu, but after that all the system is so slow... I really couldn't understan what can cause that problem
So I'm here, and I hope that some of the experienced user on this forum can help me.

When "kapm-idled" is "using" your CPU at 100% then it means that your CPU is to 100% idle (ie: it has nothing to do).

This process is  not "using" your CPU at all

but after that all the system is so slow...

How slow is this then? X11 roms have more overhead than Opie (in my experience) and run a little slower, they also require more memory, and as your 5600 only has 32Mb you may be running at the limit (so the cache can't be used, etc.).

What does the memory applet show for your free, etc., memory breakdown (or use 'top'), and just in case something else is hogging the processor, what else is near the top of the list (ignoring kapm-idled)?
