Questions About The Simpad Sl4

Hi,
  I am considering buying a Simpad SL4 from a trader on a forum. The Simpad will come with a docking station. I have a few questions, so I thought I should maybe ask them here. I will be grateful if someone could answer them, as it will be really helpful in making up my mind about the purchase.

1) Does it only take smart cards and PCMCIA drives? Can I attach a PCMCIA hard drive?
2) Can I use this as a remote with software which will take ccf files?Which software is best for this purpose?
3) Will I be able to browse the net off the box, or will I need to set anything up?
4) Is the USB port functional on the unit - if so what can you do with it? Can I attach a USB keyboard?
5) How do you install software on it? Using the serial port? Can you do it using the USB port?
6) Does it develop dead pixels with time?
7) What is the docking station for?

Sorry for the questions. I am new to this forum so please go easy on me if I have broken any rules.

1) yes (+compact flash with adapter), yes
2) should be yes, never tried
3) you need to set up wifi if you use a wifi pcmcia card
4) slave only - attach the simpad to the computer
5) with the usb or serial or wifi or pccard, with ipkg install or some front end
