Hi all, had a 1 to 1 exchange of this model after the screen flickers, more so if i record shows with subtitles. The second set still same, anyone facing such problems?

Still prefer my old 340, lower spec screen but still does it's job well except for the ageing battery.

It seems that most of the AV500 units have the same problems - flickering screens. Archos support had acknowledge the matter and are working on the new firmware.....

Yup, just dropped a mail to their tech support and got their concurrence that it's a known issue and their trying to get a fix. So those interested in the 500 do hold your horses till a fix is out.

A new firmware update was posted on Archos web site dated 24 Nov, Version OS 1.2.20, however this update does not include a fix for the flickering screen. Any AV 500 owners facing such a problem? Please comment.
