Hello All,
Don't know if I'm in the correct forum for question but here goes anyhow.
I've recently purchased an Archos AV700 and was wondering the best and easiest way to transfer some of my DVD'S to the player. Some people advise direct link up to a DVD player and changing bit rate settings for quality etc, and I've heard methods of converting DVD to DIVX and then transfering file.
Has any body had any experiences and found the best results?
I 'd appreciate any feedback. Cheers.

Hi - for what it's worth, I have used some DVD ripper software (there are lots on the market, typical cost about £30, I use Super DVD Ripper from Tinysoft as a friend recommended it), and then encode as per the Archos instructions at 2000b/sec - this gives a movie file between 1.5 and 2GB, but at excellent quality - easily watchable on a TV, and the Archos screen also does a good job at that level.
If you encode at 1500b/sec, movies such as The Incredibles are "ok". Personally at 900k the quality is garbage.
