Trolltech had predicted that by 2005 year end there would be around 10 (or more) manufacturers who would carry Qtoipia on their phones. Never happened.

There was talk of Qtopia phones hitting the US shores...never happened.

I still do hope that we will indeed see some Qtopia phones, but...

The Register article mentions the Motorola A780 as a feather in Troltech's hat, but I don't thing the A780 runs Qtopia at all. It is supposed to be a Motorola interface on Linux, not Trolltech's Qtopia interface at all.

The moto runs EZX, which is based on qt/e, and thanks to the wonderfull rebranding of qt/e to qtopia-core, TT can claim it is :/

qt is just the toolkit, on which qtopia the desktop or launcher is built. Moto didn't want the qtopia desktop/launcher but rolled their own.

qtopia still as far as I can tell still only builds on qt version 2 and not qt v4 - qtopia2.2 includes a full qt-e-2.3.10 set of sources.

Phone manufacturers are slow. There are more than 30 vendors designing phones based on Qtopia.

The US market is usually the last to adopt new technologies. It will happen there too.

Motorola phones use Ezx, which is based on Qtopia Core (qt/e) technology.

Qtopia 4 does indeed use Qtopia Core (Qt Embedded) 4.

your website is then wrong - it still says 2.3.12:
[a href=\"http://www.trolltech.com/trolltech/developer/downloads/qtopia/pdaedition]http://www.trolltech.com/trolltech/develop...opia/pdaedition[/url]

as for qtopia 4? where? start here:

http://www.trolltech.com/developer/downloads

select qtopia downloads

then only find qtopia2.2 stuff

qtopia.net seems out of date too:
http://www.qtopia.net/modules/developers/

I find the trolltech site seems to have some duplicated information and if some of it is out of date/inconsistent it makes me confused. It's a lot better than it used to be though!
