Wierdness With Beta1 If Sd Is First In Ipkg.conf
« on: June 23, 2006, 04:17:00 pm »
Hi,

Maybe this is not the right thing to do, but in the past I have changed
the /etc/ipkg.conf file, to list the SD card as the first destination, thus
making it the default.  This to avoid having to specify it, as well as
to prevent running out of space on / if I forget to specify it.

Anyway, I'm on a 6000 with beta1.  With the SD card as the first destination
ipkg update goes wild, and seems to even try to delete the /mnt/card directory!
There are also other errors that I have never seen before, and I have included a
few lines of output below, but some of the xterm history got corrupted.

It seems putting / back as the first destination and running "ipkg update"
makes everything OK again, but I figured I'd mention it.  Whew!

# ipkg update
Downloading http://mail.pdaxrom.org/download/1.1.0beta...rus-SL6000/feed ...
rm: /mnt/card: is a directory
/home/tmp/ipkg: Unsupported scheme.
--15:47:27--  http://mail.pdaxrom.org/download/1.1.0beta...rus-SL6000/feed
           => `/mnt/card/feed'
Resolving mail.pdaxrom.org... 212.10.30.205
Connecting to mail.pdaxrom.org|212.10.30.205|:80... connected.

Later on:
100%[====================================>] 6,072         --.--K/s

15:47:31 (49.00 KB/s) - `/mnt/card/Packages.7' saved [6072/6072]

FYI - I spoke too soon about everything being OK.

# ipkg list | more
ERROR: File not found: /usr/lib/ipkg/lists/main
       You probably want to run `ipkg update'
abiword - AbiWord is a free word processing program similar to Microsoft Word. It is suitable for typing papers, letters, reports, memos, and so forth.
apache2-php-module - php4 apache2 module
[...]

And I did run ipkg update...  Back to the flashing board...
