you might be able to get on in hongkong (second hand) if you look very very very hard
try shanghai or peking in china. maybe if you are very lucky and can speak mandarin to ask around
soeul in korea, again if you are very lucky and can speak enough korean to ask

If you're planning to go to Hong Kong just for the Zaurus then forget it. I had been to all the usual computer malls in Hong Kong and the only thing I found was a model made for the the China market (can't remember the model #) and the shop (in Star City?, next to the pier in Tsim Sha Tsui) only had the single unit for sale and wasn't planning on stocking more. In the end I just bought through pricejapan. My guess is that even if you do find a shop that sells Zaurus outside of Japan the cost will be more than from pricejapan. Just ain't worth it

Yeah, I have to agree with that.  If you're going to Japan anyway, Akihabara is the best place to score a Z.  Not worth a special trip.  Softmap has a used PDA store which will get you the cheapest Z around, though deals are available on eBay as well (Disclosure: I am currently selling one on eBay, but I'm saying in general eBay is a good place to find deals and not hyping it up because I want you to buy mine  )

I bought an 860 from someone in Taiwan, but it seems to have been a one-off.  It seems to me that any Z's sold outside Japan are either through a specialist importer like Trisoft, Dynamism or Figlabs, or are second-hand.

Provided the seller has a good rating, most people who own zauruses tend to look after them very well - either because Z's are not cheap, or because they are not easily repaired, or maybe because the Z draws a particular type of person who treats his/her equipment with respect.

The only risk with a 2nd hand Z is if the flash is worn out, which seems mercifully rare; and at least the microdrive inside the C3x00 is replaceable!
