Playing Xmonline
« on: December 30, 2006, 10:59:11 pm »
I am probably the dumbest one on this forum and everyone else has probably already figured this out, but here goes...

If you go to this page: http://www.mikesplanet.net/ and read the post about xmonline, you will find a script that you need to download and modify. For me, I selected mplayer as my player and modified the mplayer to read 'rxvt -e mplayer -playlist' (no extra quotes). You need to add your username/password (yes, you must be an xm subscriber) to the script and then make it (xmonline.sh) executable with either the gui properties or chmod. Then you call the script with ./xmonline.sh chan# (the xm channel you want to tune to). The script includes the curl command, so you need to install curl if you don't already have it. It works like a champ for me. I have fooled with this script so many times that I am probably leaving something out, so if you want to try it and need help, ask. Happy New Year.
