Openbox Main Menu And Arrow Keys
« on: February 06, 2007, 03:46:32 am »
I'm trying to customise openbox so I can do everything from the keyboard and not require the stylus.  Everything is pretty much how I want it now except for one really annoying problem.

I've mapped the menu button to open the openbox menu, but I then can't navigate the menu.  My arrow keys (which work perfectly well everywhere else) just don't move up and down the menu items   The odd thing is, if the top menu item has a sub menu, left and right does appear to move focus into and out of the submenu (but still not up and down).

Surely no one else suffers from this?

not sure of that problem, but I heavily customized openbox ages ago, just before discovering the delights of fluxbox and icewm! which are much more customisable and generally nicer

Yeah, I use flux on my workstation but haven't used OB since I found it on cygwin at work years and years ago; I just thought I'd give it another chance ;-)  If I can't get the menu working from the keyboard though, I'll be blaming OB for that and install Flux instead.

I'll keep tinkering and see if I can figure it out.  Ideas anyone?

my keys work fine on ob, but i am using the more stabler version of pdaXrom running the 2.4.20 kernel... it probably is a bug so make sure you report it and it may get fixed in the next release...
